Batman Beyond: Neo-Year #6 concludes the arc as the Gotham AI plans to activate its nano-virus to enslave the free will of all Gothamites. Can Terry find the help he needs to put an end to the AIs plan?
Is It Good?
As endings go, Batman Beyond: Neo-Year #6 is a fairly solid conclusion to the arc. Whenever you come to the end of a story, you'll naturally want to know how far the characters have come and whether or not the destination was worth the journey. In this case, there are positives and negatives in each column. The plot revolves around Terry gathering his allies for a big push against the Gotham AI before it activates the nano infection at the stroke of Midnight on New Year's Eve. Through Gestalt's research, we know that Donovan Lumos's party ship will act as the activation antenna. Gestalt, aka the new Oracle, is running anti-virus tech and coordination from the Batcave, Barbara Gordon is responsible for gathering all the good cops to assist in the raid, Boonma leads the extraction team to get all the civilians off the party ship, and Terry flies into battle with the new and improved Batsuit.
A quick word on the new Batsuit. It's just okay. It lacks the elegance and simplicity of the old suit, and the new chest symbol looks like a Nightwing knockoff. It's not terrible, but the wow factor is definitely missing.
The plan to stop the Gotham AI works according to plan, which is the most surprising non-surprise of all. However, the surprise is both a plus and a minus. While it's refreshing to not see an out-of-nowhere twist to the ending, the resolution here was almost too easy and quick.
When you pull all the pieces together, the good guys win, Terry has a new suit, and a new Bat-team is ready for action. Therefore, the story ends in a different place from where it started, and that's always a good thing for a title to feel like it's going somewhere.
However, the origin of Gotham AI is never explained. The way the Gotham AI is defeated was too convoluted to seem clear. And Donovan Lumos's part in the entire plan (mostly unwitting) leads to almost no consequences. Therefore, the ending has its flaws, so your satisfaction level may vary.

Bits and Pieces:
Batman Beyond: Neo-Year #6 ends the arc with a new status quo for Terry with a fancy new Batsuit and a new Bat-Team to fight crime across Neo-Gotham. The art is very good, and the ending ties up (most of) the loose ends, but the ending is surprising for its lack of surprise and the speed/ease with which Batman wins in the end.
