Space (Insert Whatever Here)

Writer: Mariko Tamaki
Artist: Amancay Nahuelpan, Tamra Bonvillain, and Ariana Maher
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: December 7, 2021

Crush & Lobo was a mini-series I was looking forward to, not for Lobo, but because I'm all about Crush and figured that if Mariko Tamaki could give her some development, she could go on to bigger and better things.  Yea, I gave up on that around issue two, so now I'm just looking for this to end with the least amount of cringe possible.  While some have pointed out the lack of Lobo as a significant problem with this book, I have found the lame jokes instead of actual character moments to be the issue.  Crush & Lobo is one of the worst-selling books at DC Comics, and it's a shame that higher-ups will probably blame the character for that and not Tamaki.  Oh well, let's check out this month's issue...

I loved the first issue of Dark Knights of Steel.  I didn't know what to expect, and on the surface, a medieval DCU wasn't something I thought I needed. But, boy, was I wrong!  I couldn't wait for this issue to come out, especially after the last issue's crazy cliffhanger.  So, was Dark Knights of Steel just as good?  Let's find out...

Baby Steps

Writer: Joshua Williamson
Artist: Jorge Molina, Mikel Janin, Tomeu Morey, and Clayton Cowles
Cover Price: $4.99
Release Date: December 7, 2021

Joshua Williamson starts his Batman run when I think Batman needs to get better.  Sure, the sales are as high (or higher) as ever, but after Tom King and James Tynion's runs, it just doesn't feel like Batman has the sizzle right now.  King's run had a line in the sand feel that divided fans, while Tynion's run felt more like a showcase for his characters than Batman.  So, having Batman leave Gotham might be the focus the book needs.  Saying that, it's still all about the story that kicks off right here, right now. So, let's get into it...
