Crime Syndicate #5 Review
Johnny B. Quick
Let's head on back to Earth-3 and continue our tour of this messed up world and the creation of the Crime Syndicate but not only that, the formation of the Legion of Justice as well. With this being the penultimate issue to the series I really hope that we can amp things up in a clever way that makes all of this feel like its leading to something big because while I'll always take a Crime Syndicate story, this introduction to this newly made Earth-3's team of horrible villains just hasn't piqued my interest as much as I hoped it would and I find myself comparing this team to what we had before and while there have been some moments along the way, when I look at what we've been given here I feel like they've been made a little less. Maybe though, it's only because I haven't seen this world fully explored yet and I hope by the end that I can call this Crime Syndicate, my Crime Syndicate. Let's jump into this issue and check it out.
Batman The Secret Files: The Signal #1 Review
Dayshift
Let me tell you right from the get-go........ I love Duke Thomas. I love the character so much that I'm been dying because he hasn't had a proper shake as part of the Bat-Family except for an adventure here and there before it feels like he's completely forgotten about, which is odd because each time the character pops up somewhere, it seems that they give him a new power but never use the time to explain it or even fill people in on who Duke Thomas is and where he's come from over the years. I hope that with this new Secret Files we get the full lowdown on where Duke has been, what he's doing now with his light and dark powers, and seeing where the Signal is going to go in the future. Let's jump into this issue and see The Signal.
Batman #110 Review
Back to the Future State of Fear
Justice League #64 Review
Whatever Happened To The World's Greatest Super-Heroes?
Alright, it's time for another issue of Bendis doing Bendis as we see how far the Justice League can fall in doing nothing but pushing Bendis' previous stories from Naomi, Superman, and Event Leviathan. The last arc really didn't do anything in exploring Naomi but by the end of it, she was now officially on the Justice League, which feels weird as hell so let's continue this trend of nonsense and weirdness as we continue to look at the United Federation of Planets, Synmar Utopica, Naomi and Checkmate. Let's check it out.
Suicide Squad #5 Review
Bloodsport's Bogus Journey
Let's head back to Belle Reve to see what Amanda Waller is up to after Red X came along and made her and the rest of Task Force X look like a bunch of chumps in the last issue. Really, we're not doing much with that here as we instead look at the introduction to Bloodsport as a member of the team and see why he's been MIA since this series started. Let's jump into this issue and see if our Suicide Squad can recover from the embarrassment that was Red X. Let's check it out.
Green Lantern #4 Review
Dying Of The Light
We are facing one of the worst events to hit the Green Lantern Corps in their entire history and yeah, I understand we've seen some bad things over the years, Guardians turning evil and creating the Third Army, Hal becoming Parallax, Appa Ali Apsa becoming the Mad Guardian, but none of that seems to compare to the Central Power Battery exploding in a time when the Corps was at their weakest during a transition period when they were brought into the United Federation of Planets. Now we've got a lot of our favorite alien Lanterns dead or missing and a whole lot of story to cover to find out not only where our missing Lanterns are but who was behind this assault on Oa. Let's jump into this issue and see John Stewart's continued survival on an alien planet and Jo Mullein and the Teen Lantern, Keli Quintela dealing with the aftermath of the Power Battery going down. Let's check it out.
