*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*
The Batman comic has become entrenched in this new Future State storyline ever since the event took place. Instead of actually focusing on that story though, we are instead treated to what ultimately serves as a prologue to the story. Once again, I cannot help but feel like this is the story that the creative team wanted to tell and so they just threw the Future State section together in order to have something to print for the higher ups. That said, the Future State series, while not terrible, definitely wasn’t anything to write home about. So, the insistence to continue the story in the main Batman comic is questionable. However, perhaps there is one hell of a story that this team was holding back on until they could tell it here. I don’t know, but we are going to find out as we jump into the latest issue.
Swamp Thing #2 Review
Man-Bat #3 Review
The Sound Of Fear
The Man-Bat saga of some undefined time before our main character joined the Justice League Dark continues. Has this wowed me the way that I wanted it to? No, not at all but it has done a decent job at taking the Man-Bat mythos and combining it into a greatest hits for this mini and the one new aspect that I do enjoy is that Kirk Langstrom is dying and his Man-Bat brain is telling him to go out on top and die the way that he would want to and apparently that way is completing his cure for deafness that would help his sister and everyone else he inadvertently hurt in the first issue to this series. It's just too bad that Amanda Waller and the Scarecrow both want the good doctor first. Let's jump into this issue and see where Kirk ends up next after his battle with the Suicide Squad in the last issue. Let's check it out.
Suicide Squad #2 Review
Looking For The Exit To Arkham
It's time to get back to the new Suicide Squad as they try to break William Cobb, aka Talon out of Arkham Asylum, during "A Day" of all times, where the Joker supposedly gassed out the entire facility, killing a mess of fools in the process. So yeah, things aren't really working out for Peacemaker on his first mission as team leader....... you know, since everyone on his team was essentially killed. Let's jump into this issue if we can get Conner Kent, Superboy into the asylum for some backup. Let's check it out.
Crime Syndicate #2 Review
Starro Is Just The Beginning!
Starro the Conqueror has made his way to Earth-3 and like the JLA of old, this will be the point in this new remade Universe where the Crime Syndicate come together to form a team of pure evil. It's a fun reimagining that I can't wait to see the whole story because in a post Death Metal Omniverse, everything is new and everything is up for grabs to define and I just hope that Andy Schmidt's take on our dark mirror versions of the world's greatest superheroes continues to be fun and exciting. Let's jump into this issue and see these characters take on Starro and each other. Let's check it out.
Green Lantern #1 Review
Everything All At Once
It's time to get back to the Green Lantern Corps and figure out where our ring slingers fit into a Universe that has come together as a United Federation of Planets that can take care of themselves and don't need the Guardians looking down on them as parents. Not only that, but we need to figure out what's up with the Teen Lantern and her mysterious power gauntlet. Let's jump into this issue and see what's up with the Green Lantern before the lights go out and our favorite Lanterns lose their power. Let's jump into this issue and check it out.
