Criminal Sanity is back from another hiatus.  Or purposed scheduling.  Or whatever.  It has been a while and with all that time it is extremely difficult to be invested in this story.  Want to know what is going on?  Harleen is still looking for the Joker.  Again.  You are caught up.  Let me tell you what I think.
We pick up where we left off in the last issue.  Harleen is “trapped” in the interrogation room with the Joker since he was able to cut the power.  They continue their nothing conversation.  The Joker just wants art advice.  This is all going on while Harleen is having a PTSD episode about her roommate.
Once the power kicks back on, Gordon asked her if he is the guy.  Harleen thinking that since GCPD is corrupt, he will be out in no time anyway so fuck it.  She tells Gordon to let him go.  She justifies this in her head by telling herself she is going to be the one to kill him.  Sure.  Joker escapes while building what seems to be GCPD uniform.

We flashback to the Joker killing Joey (remember him from months ago?) and then the Joker kills Danny’s family, one of which is a brunette.  This leads back to Harleen’s roommate I guess.

Flash forward.  Joker has his next two victims set up on a power transformer.  Then he electrocutes them.  Cool.  Harleen blames herself and vows to stop him before he can strike again.  Again.  You just let him walk out of the jail in GCPD.  Make up your fucking mind Harleen.

The art is amazing as always.  I will never have any complaints there.  Everything from the fine details to the grand sense of Gotham is beautiful.  My favorite parts of art are when the colorist can let loose and do their thing.

Bits and Pieces:

Overall I thought the issue was I don’t know.  Fine?  Look if you have not read this series yet but are interested, wait until the trade.  It is an interesting story but I feel like issue to issue we are doing the same things over and over again and nothing progresses the story.  You cannot be doing that with such a long and inconsistent release schedule.  I was extremely interested in this book, now I don’t really care.  This book started in 2019.  I hope the ending blows me away.  Art was fantastic though.

6/10
