Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy #5 Review
Mirror Image
Writer: Jody Houser
Artist: Adriana Melo, Mark Morales, Hi-Fi, and Gabriela Downie
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: January 8, 2020
I was looking forward to this book coming out mainly because it promised to wipe away the utter garbage that was Heroes in Crisis. Yea, that's also going on with Wally West in Flash Forward as well, but seeing Ivy get back to being herself (or better!) is my jam. While I like this series enough so far, I think Jody Houser got a bit stuck between a jokey book and an important one the last two issues, but that is probably something you can chalk up to having Harley Quinn along for the ride. That said, I want the tone from the first two issues back here for the penultimate issue. Do we get that and is it any good? Let's find out...

Once again, we come to the Supergirl comic and at this points, my hopes for this book have plummeted. I was trying to remain positive about this book and the way it is going as of right now because I want the book to be compelling even if we are being sucked into another book’s storyline. That being said, when I looked at the list of comics being released this week, my heart sank because I knew I had to read Supergirl again. Now, there are some things to like about this book but I am completely unenthusiastic about reading it. However, they did drop some nice things in the last issue that could be built upon. However, the book really need to show itself off in this issue to bring me back into it. It’s going to be a tough sell, that’s for sure. Maybe that’s what DC wants from this book though? If that’s the case, I feel bad for Supergirl fans. Let’s jump into this issue and cross our fingers that things turn around.

I need some overall progression in this story and I really hope it shows up here. Maybe some look at Raina Creel as a great big bad, but over a year and a half of her is way too much! So, does Joelle Jones and her big band of artists get things moving towards an end game here? Let's find out...
Batman and the Outsiders #9 Review
No Sleep Till...
Writer: Bryan Hill
Artist: Dexter Soy
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: January 8, 2020
I have been liking more and more of what we are getting from this book lately and I hope that continues with this issue. I like the slow burn, character-building that Hill brings to the team, but without any real action, it fell flat at times. That has changed and I think the book is better for it. Does that combination keep hitting this month? Let's find out...
Young Justice #12 Review

It's back to Port Oswego we go to check in on our Young Justice team, who after a jaunt through the Multiverse, came to meet DC's newest hero, Naomi, when they finally made their way back home. Yeah, we still haven't learned much about Naomi..... Hell, we haven't learned how Young Justice is a thing either or how any of the members remember each other or know what Young Justice is, but we continue to move forward, where now we find Superboy sent to Skartaris by the evil STAR Labs director, Dr. Glory. Let's jump into this issue and see if our story moves anywhere or in any decent direction, but if eleven issues of nothing so far is any indication... I'm not counting on it. Let's check it out.

Some will cheer, and others will cry as we reach a new chapter in the Batman book. Tom King’s run has come to an end and Tynion has taken over the reigns. As for myself, you can read my reviews of Tom King’s run but I overall felt the ending was quite satisfying but his time with the book needed to finally come to an end and while his story will continue elsewhere, we have Tynion taking over and I’m pretty excited. His run with Detective Comics was one that I enjoyed (for the most part) and shows he has a good understanding of the character. In addition, his style is definitely more typical when it comes to writing and after Tom King’s more unorthodox style that we’ve had for 85 issues, I think fans will be happy to return to something familiar. I have high hopes so let’s jump into this latest issue and see where it takes us.
