Review written by Joey Casco of TheWineStalker.net

Hey! This issue was released 31 years ago today! How cool is that?

To catch up on what's going on in this four issue mini-series, check out the Deadshot 1988 miniseries label.

We start this issue with Floyd finally responding to the letter that Susan, his ex-wife, sent to him. He's completely cold to her because he's just a cold hearted bastard and that's why we love him, but it turns out that their son (in current continuity he has a daughter, not a son) has been kidnapped by somebody who he had a contract with 20 years ago and failed to complete.

Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #6 Review

Family Forever

Writer: James Tynion IV
Art Team: Freddie E Williams, Kevin Eastman, Jeremy Colwell

Release Date: October 2, 2019

The conclusion to the very enjoyable trilogy of Batman/TMNT series is here with a clash of the multiverse the stakes at play. Will everyone get their memories back in time, get back to where they are supposed to be, while saving the day in the process, or will there be a Bat, Turtle, or Joker left behind along the way? Lets discuss those points and more here.

DCeased #5 Review

No More Rooftops

Writer: Tom Taylor
Art Team: Trevor Hairsine, Stefano Gaudiano, Rain Beredo
Cover Price:  $3.99
Release Date: October 2, 2019

The penultimate issue of DCeased is here, and while there was a nice tie-in issue to link together some series threads, the main book has really only been heroes being offed, while the main cast remains stationary atop the Daily Planet building.  Thankfully, the cliffhanger to the last issue forces those with current squatting rights off that building, moving this main book forward ... FINALLY. So with that four issues of setup out of the way, let's see where that takes us this issue, and how it sets up the finale.

**NON SPOILERS AND SCORE AT THE BOTTOM**

Hey, it’s the final issue of the “first season” of The Green Lantern! I kind of lost track of what was happening over the last couple of issues, but if this one is worth its salt, then things will be wrapped up nice and tidily. Let’s find out in my review of The Green Lantern #12, right here!

Deathstroke #48 Review

Leprosy Is The Key!

Written By: Christopher Priest
Art By: Carlo Pagulayan, Fernando Pasarin, Jason Paz, Cam Smith, Jeremy Cox, Willie Schubert
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: October 2, 2019

Now while we'd expect a resurrection to be weird enough, with Slade Wilson we have him showing up at two places at once and one of those looks like he's not from around this continuity.  What's that mean?  Is he Pre-Flashpoint?  Another Earth?....... no idea at this point, but by the way he was willing to straight-up murder Hosun at the end of the last issue........ I don't like him..... and he kind of scares me.  With the scary Terminator Deathstroke messing up Slade's life, we also have our proper Deathstroke working in a hospital as a nurse and getting to the bottom of a couple being beaten and killed at the hands of biker meth dealers.  That's right... this series is weird.  Let's jump into this issue and see if we can get to the bottom of why there are two Slade Wilsons running around.

Lois Lane #4 Review

No Answers, Only Questions

Written By: Greg Rucka
Art By: Mike Perkins, Paul Mounts, Simon Bowland
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: October 2, 2019

With the more character-driven aspect of the last issue, I was really shocked at what this book could be because for the most part I really did not like the first two issues with its political/murder mystery angle to the storytelling.  That last issue though.... wow.  I saw what this title could be and because of that, I found myself actually interested for the first time in jumping into a Lois Lane book this issue... hopefully, it lives up to what I want it to be.... or... is just good for other reasons.  Let's jump into this issue and check it out.

Young Justice #9 Review

Garbage Picking

Written By: Brian Michael Bendis
Art By: Andre Lima Araujo, John Timms, Gabe Eltaeb, Wes Abbott
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: October 2, 2019

The Young Justice team is stuck in Earth-3 and stuck fighting their evil counterparts....... This may have worked if it seemed like Brian Michael Bendis knew anything about Earth-3 or seemed to put any thought into what an evil Young Justice would be like.... or why there would be an evil Young Justice.  That's what we got though on our continued jaunt throughout the Multiverse as our heroes try to find their way home and with this issue we see the background of Teen Lantern and what made her who she is today.  Let's jump into this issue and check it out.

Justice League #33 Review

Mega Thrusters are Go!

Writer: Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV
Artist: Bruno Redondo, Daniel Sempere, Juan Albarran, Hi-Fi and Tom Napolitano
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: October 2, 2019

I have been enjoying this whole Justice/Doom shindig for the action, the fun and the Justice Society of America!  You can keep Kamandi...I want Wildcat, Alan Scott, Jay Garrick, and the gang and I want them now.  There I go again, sounding like Veruca Salt!  Next thing you know, I'm going to sing Seether and start dating Dave Grohl.  Ponder that as we go into the review for this issue...

Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #2 Review

Rose Forrest Gump

Writer: Brian Michael Bendis
Artist: Ryan Sook, Nicola Scott, Jim Cheung, and Jeff Dekal
Cover Price: $4.99
Release Date: October 2, 2019

I can't say I loved the first issue of Millennium, but I was a bit intrigued.  No, it wasn't the Rose and Thorn walking tour of the DCU future that had my interest or the different characters we saw.  Nope, what had me intrigued was what we didn't see...the Legion of Super-Heroes!!!  Talk about your classic "bait and never give it to ya"!  Let's see if this issue at least gives us that and would it be too much to ask for a little year designation if this is setting up the future timeline?  Ok, I'll stop acting like Veruca Salt and get on with my review...

Batman #80 Review and *SPOILERS*

Welcome Home

Written By: Tom King
Art By: John Romita Jr., Klaus Janson, Tomeu Morey
Letters By: Clayton Cowles
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: October 2, 2019

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

We’ve been stuck on a tropical island when it comes to the Batman book. While I was a big fan of the first issue on that island (though I will admit it was a strange turn to take), the second issue felt redundant and even though it gave us an answer to one of the ongoing mysteries in this book, it’s about damn time we get the story moving again. So far, City of Bane is in its fourth issue and aside from a huge character death, not a whole lot has happened. We need story progression and we need it now. The occupation of Gotham has been established, we need resistance. So, let’s jump into this new issue and see where it takes us.
