Dial H for Hero #3 Review
Dial H for...
Writer: Sam Humphries
Artist: Joe Quinones, Arist Deyn, Jordan Gibson, Dave Sharpe
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: May 22, 2019
It's time again for Dial H and while I really liked the first issue, last month's issue had me a little bit worried. Sam Humphries seems to be making things up as he goes and seems to care about making up wacky H Dial characters over any sort of real story, but hey, as long as it's fun, I can dig it. So, is this issue fun or does the book continue its downward slide? Let's find out...

I can't say that The Terrifics has been my favorite book coming out, but I am willing to give it another try now that Gene Luen Yang has jumped on board. Martian Manhunter #5 Review and Spoilers
All In The Mind...
Written by: Steve Orlando
Art by: Riley Rossmo, Ivan Plascencia, Andworld Design
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: May 22, 2019
This book remains a difficult one to review. Set in the Martian Manhunter's past, it is effectively a prequel story for which very few people were clamoring. Released hot on the heels of DC's other 'MM' title, it is also implicitly a thematic sequel to King and Gerrards' Mister Miracle – or, at the very least, a cynical (or desperate) attempt to cash in on the popularity and 'critical acclaim' of that title. It is difficult to see how it can successfully do either. What we've had so far is a distinctly uneven alien noir tale whose Martian scenes are self-consciously weird but mostly feature recognizable analogs for human social ills and customs, and whose Earth-bound detective tale is simply not (yet) complex enough to be compelling. As we near the half-way point, something needs to change. Perhaps last issue's cliffhanger ending will signal a different direction. Let's find out…

Release Date: May 22, 2019
Let's head off to Earth-X to check in on our Freedom Fighters now that they've successfully awakened Uncle Sam to join their fight to take back the world from the Ratzi menace. In our previous issue it looked like everything was going according to plan, the Freedom Fighters were winning battle after battle, letting the people of America that the notion of A Dream was still possible, but what our heroes didn't know is that Adolf Hitler Jr. was about to release the Reich's most powerful weapon....... The Overman. Let's jump into this issue and see if the Freedom Fighters are enough to take on a Nazi loving Superman or if this is the end for freedom. Let's check it out.

Release Date: May 22, 2019
Thirty-Five years in the future, Terry McGinnis is Batman and he's keeping the streets of Neo Gotham safe for the good people of the city. It seems that he might have met his match now in the form of the new villain, "The Splitt", who can split into two people and as far as Terry can tell, can teleport as well. Things look bad for our hero and from what we saw in the previous issue, it doesn't look like he'll get much help from Bruce Wayne, who hasn't been acting like himself after making a visit to Arkham Asylum. Let's jump into this issue and see if Batman can get the upper hand on The Splitt. Let's check it out.
Batgirl #35 Review
Shark Attack
Art By: Paul Pelletier, Norm Rapmund, Jose Marzan Jr., Jordie Bellaire, Andworld Design
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: May 22, 2019
Let's head back down into The Den, where we last left our hero looking like Houdini, hung upside down in a tank of rising water; as the Terrible Trio tried to prove their dominance over the criminals of Gotham. Too bad that seems to be the least of Barbara Gordon's worries because outside of her hero life, it looks like Gordon Clean Energy isn't do as well as she'd like because her check to her new landlord just bounced and all of Bab's things were thrown out into the street. Maybe by protecting it, this will be Jason Bard's way into Barbara's heart. Let's jump into this and see what's what.

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*
The previous issue of Flash started the Year One storyline in one of the most boring ways possible. It started by taking an entire issue to retell the Flash’s origin story. Not only that, it was a rushed version of his origin. So all the really cool parts of Flash’s origin were glossed over really quickly while we took plenty of time to set up the others. Needless to say, I wasn’t too thrilled with it. That being said, there was something that I did love about the previous issue and that was the cliffhanger that we ended with. Barry, after just getting his powers, accidentally runs to the future and sees his future self and that Central City has been taken over by Turtle. I’m super excited to see how this plays out in this new issue so let’s just jump right in and see where this issue takes us.

Previously, we saw Superman and Lois go undercover as their Spyral agent disguises........ which is apparently a thing and with that........ we didn't really get anywhere except for a face to face with Tiger of Spyral before all hell broke loose. While the disguise of Chaz and Andi didn't seem to really accomplish much, we'll jump into this issue and see what Tiger knows about what's going on. Let's check it out.
