Are Teen Titans team is a mess right now. Roundhouse went and turned heel against his friends because Robin got his sister killed years ago, Djinn is now trapped inside her ring and Crush has gone to the dark side now that Lobo was given a gift from Lex Luthor that allows the Main Man to control his daughter's mind. Let's jump into this issue and see if there's anything here that can bring this team back together again or if it's just more doom and gloom from here on out. Let's check it out.
The worst thing going on right now........ Well, one of the worst things because of how much bad shit is going down right now is that I don't know how Roundhouse is going to be accepted back into the group after his actions over the past two issues. Right now he's locked up in Damian's dungeon, where our team takes turns in watching him and from the way they're treating their former teammate, it doesn't seem like anyone is willing to forgive and forget anytime soon. Especially because it seems like a lot of attention is being taken in trying to get Djinn out of her ring, not to mention the bigger problem right now, Crush is tearing up the city.
So yeah, a lot of doom and gloom this issue as everything we once loved has been torn apart and our heroes are forced to go up against a mind controlled Crush, where they don't even know why she's acting the way she is. This all moves pretty quickly, where our only big moment of emotion comes from Roundhouse looking for forgiveness and while I would have liked more out of this book with everything that's going on, I did get excited by the end where we're finally presented with "The Other", who's identity is promised to be revealed in the next issue.
All in all, I really enjoyed the art in this issue and loved the bits with Roundhouse, not to mention that Adam Glass is making sure that he knows what's going on in the other books, what with Wallace's powers being wonky because of what's been going on in The Flash Comics. I just wish that we got to simmer a bit and deal with the team personally instead of forcing our heroes into a new confrontation.... which is really anything but new because it all has to do with bringing our team to The Other, who's been in the background since Adam Glass took over the book. I will be happy to finally get that villain explained and explored though, I just hope that it gives us enough time to deal with how our heroes are feeling after so much that's gone down between them.
Bits and Pieces:
With some great art we see our heroes take on a mind controlled Crush, which is cool and leads us to a really interesting cliffhanger, but sadly we don't spend enough time in dealing with the fallout of Roundhouse's betrayal or Djinn's banishment......... which would lead to some great drama and where this book really shines in my mind. While I would have liked some more personal developments, this issue is still fun and I can't wait to get the big reveal next issue.
