Sit down, get comfortable and pay attention because Jon Kent is about to finish up his story about how he's aged seven years, while only being away for three weeks.  As we saw previously, it looked like Jon spent a good deal of time locked up on Earth-3 by Ultraman and I'm waiting for a grand explanation about how this is possible since they all died off at the end of the Darkseid War and if this means that they can somehow come back......... I love the Crime Syndicate.  That's enough catch up, let's jump into this issue and see if Bendis can make this all work out and make it feel satisfying.  Let's check it out.

I'm going to come right out and say that everything that I had a problem with in the last issue about continuity dealing with the Crime Syndicate was fixed....... kinda.  It doesn't all add up, but it was explained away pretty simple and while I like that Bendis isn't just walking all over what came before without a care in the world about it....... the explanation about how and why the Crime Syndicate was involved wasn't satisfying at all.  Pretty much, Jon spent seven years on Earth-3........ and nothing seemed to happen and it was a prop just to show off Ultraman and Superwoman, while giving nothing of substance.  

So that's it.  Jon's story is over and we're all caught up in a completely lackluster way and now it's back to Rogol Zaar........ which seems odd because of how long we haven't had to deal with him.  On top of Jon doing the whole time and space tango that took him out of his dimension for years, it seems that Jor-El has been doing a bit of traveling himself to find him and just because he was a scientist on Krypton once upon a time, it seems that Superman's father can just build anything he needs to including time machines, inter-dimensional portals and teleporters.......  Pretty much, he can do whatever he wants it seems.  

All in all, it seems that Jon coming back was a mere second thought that Brian Michael Bendis didn't want to spend the time to make satisfying and now that he's told as little as he had to, it's back to his big villain of the Man of Steel mini-series and while this might make the book pick up a bit....... I wasn't really digging what we had of the character previously and don't expect much now.  The art in this issue was good to okay...... some pages came off looking weird, but not bad by any means, but the art has never been the problem with this series.  

Bits and Pieces:

Jon's back and his story about where he's been is finished........ and it really isn't satisfying and felt like more of a formality than an actual story that Brian Michael Bendis wanted to tell.  The art in this issue is decent, but everything about this issue felt forced to get us back to Rogol Zaar and I'm not looking forward to getting back to that world killer.
