The Price continues and I am enjoying this crossover enough.  I love Gotham Girl and while I am worried about where this story is leading her, I do like the spotlight she is getting.  So, what do we learn this week and does it feel right?  Let's find out...

We open the issue with a little Gotham Girl character work told through a comic book origin that never was.  You see, Claire only followed her brother, Hank, into the superhero business, but now with him gone, she needs her own story.  The thing is, Hank isn't gone now and she is turning her dream-like story into a horrible nightmare!

In the present, Batman and Flash are fighting off Gotham-Zombies (more of that stuff coming up in May...am I right?!?) and coming up with a plan.  A little piggyback running is in order and after mentioning the Button and Sanctuary, the baddies burn themselves out from overusing their powers.  We end the scene with Flash yelling some more and making Batman eat his dust...meep, meep!

In a very forced coincidence, Iris West is hanging out in the Central City Police Department right as Gotham Girl and then Flash arrive to tangle.  Barry has a nice speech tying Wally death in with Hank's but Gotham Girl wants no part of it since Hank is alive and kicking.  Tring to kick Barry's ass that is!

When Barry sees Iris, there suddenly is no try only do and by that I mean Barry gets tossed like a rag doll.  However, just when things look like they may end for the Flash, things go south for Hank.  It kind of seemed like it was supposed to be a more emotional scene, but it played out a bit odd and happened all too quickly.  The issue ends with Batman arriving, but it looks like he may have shown up a little too late.

I am interested in seeing what happens next issue and overall this was an okay issue.  Sure, a couple big things happen, but I felt disconnected from them and it all felt a bit empty.  The rewriting of how Claire left the Batman run early on feels off to me and takes away from what I thought was the best issues this book has had, but it really will all hinge on the finale in next week's Flash issue.  As for this week, things just aren't feeling as big and important as they should.

I did like the art a whole lot in this issue.  This is the Guillem March I used to love and I missed him so much.

Bits and Pieces:

The Price continues and while some big things happen, they somehow don't seem so big.  After not seeing Gotham and Gotham Girl for so long, bits of the issue fell flat, felt forced and didn't feel earned.  The art was really good, but it all comes down to next week's finale to make it all seem worthwhile because right now, it just doesn't.

6.0/10
