Hopefully, my disappointment in the first installment will not spill over into this review but my expectations were significantly lowered after issue 1, which hopefully will improve on the generic plot, wooden characters, and muted palette. Let's check it out.

Wow. With each issue of this series the story being unveiled is becoming more and more complex, interesting and very, very detailed. What's ironic about that is the fact that what really reeled me into this series at the start was the light-hearted nature of it. Now, only a few issues in I am hooked by its growing complexity. Let's see how this issue was.

The Wild Storm #14 Review and Spoilers
Written by: Warren Ellis
Art by: Jon Davis-Hunt
Colours by: Steve Bucellato
Letters by: Simon Bowland
Price: $3.99
Well, that's a shame. This is issue 14 of the Wild Storm imprint's flagship title, not 13 as indicated by the numbering on the cover. A small mistake, you might think, but, when this comic manages to produce something approaching perfection most issues, not an insignificant one: a fly in this comic's sweet-smelling ointment; a little fox to spoil an otherwise luxuriant and abundant vine. Still, that is a nice cover. The image of this version of Fairchild (Gen13) lifting a pickup one-handed above her head is a typically Davis-Huntian (Davis-Hunt-esque?) study in feminine power and understated menace. The last issue saw the Wild Storm universe expand in intriguing and unexpected ways. Can we expect more of the same this time around? Let's find out…

There are so many ways to take this issue and they all depend on how “you” like your Joker. This isn’t “tear your face off” Joker that Snyder gave us, or the “ wait til they get a load of me!” Batman 89 Joker, or even the Killing Joke version of him, which is referenced in this very issue. This is Tom King’s take on the Joker. And, I personally think this entire issue gives us a new take on the character. Good or bad; you decide. I’ll give you my call at the end. Let’s take a read, OK.

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*
While the last issue of this series was something of a disappointment, it did leave us with one hell of a cliffhanger which pitted our hero Batwoman against one of the biggest heroes ever - Batman! I may not have liked the last issue but I am actually pretty excited to see how this goes. This series found some new life near its end. The Many Arms of Death storyline was dull and while some may have enjoyed it, the sales clearly show that those people were in the minority. However, we are nearing the end of this book and the choices that have been made have been mostly positive. That said, last month was another low point in a long series of low points. I am hoping that this issue will find its footing but we won’t know until we dive in and find out for ourselves so nevertheless…
Deathbed #5 Review
A Twist In My Story
Written by: Joshua Williamson
Art by: Riley Rossmo, Ivan Plascencia, and Deron Bennett
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: June 20, 2018
**NON-SPOILERS AND SCORE AT THE BOTTOM**
With only two issues left to go, I fully expect Joshua Williamson and Co. to put together an ending that is just as balls-to-the-wall fun as the first four issues were. Riley Rossmo's art really impressed me at first, and although the quality has taken a bit of a dip since then, it's still better than I expected. Even if I hated it, I'm having so much fun following Luna and Val's wacky adventure that it doesn't even matter anymore. Let's take a look and see if this penultimate issue keeps the momentum going.

New Challengers #2 Review
There's A Twist!
Writer: Scott Snyder & Aaron Gillespie
Art Team: Andy Kubert, Klaus Janson, Brad Anderson
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: June 20, 2018
I've personally tried each of DC's New Age of Heroes books as the first issues have come out and decided to continue buying them from there after reading. New Challengers was one of only a few that didn't immediately grab my attention and wouldn't have been something I kept reading. However I have been assigned to review the title so I'm here to weather the storm with anyone else brave enough to journey with me. So lets peek at issue two and see if it inspires me a bit more going forward.
Damage #6 Review
'The Green' Needs Damage Control
Written By: Robert Venditti
Art By: Diogenes Neves, Trevor Scott, Larry Hama, Allen Passalaqua
Release Date: June 20 2018
Cover Price: $2.99
Damage has hit a few bumps in the road lately after starting off pretty strong. Instead of continuing its forward momentum, and focusing on the Ethan/Damage character combo, we keep getting guest stars thrown at the title, which sidetracks most of the progress for our character I'd like to see. Right now Damage's encounter with Poison Ivy, led to a bigger encounter with Grodd, so after back to back villain reveals for our cliffhangers, let's see how things wrap up here.

It's back to the never ending Atlantean revolution...sigh. Frankly, I approach reading this comic like I do my dayjob these days. And that is, to say, with great trepidation and regret. It's just such a slog, folks, and any trace of stakes was drained from this story a long time ago. So let's get to it, shall we, and see what's happening in the nine-thousandth week of this story arc in my review of Aquaman #37, below!

Justice League #2 Review
May The Hidden Forces Be With You
Art By: Jorge Jimenez, Alejandro Sanchez, Tom Napolitano
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: June 20, 2018
As you probably know, the Justice League went and broke the Source Wall and since then things have been going crazy throughout the Universe as energies from outside the Multiverse have been pouring in and it's this book where we'll be dealing with the brunt of those energies........ and problems and from what we saw in the previous issue, it seems that the heart of the Source Wall itself has come to Earth to either help or destroy existence. I've never been good with fifty/fifty odds, but hopefully the Justice League are luckier than I am as they try to figure out their future. Let's jump into this issue and see what Scott Snyder has in store for us.
