*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

Things are beginning to get turned up to 11 in this issue. Do Kamala’s friends have what it takes to save Jersey City from the clutches of The Inventor? Will she arrive to save the day? Read on and find out!

The issue begins with Naftali still on the search for our missing Kamala and he’s investigating another shop that she frequents. The store owner gives Naftali a clue - one of the faux fur hats that she’s always wearing. Inside the hat, he finds a business card that could potentially lead him to the next clue.

Next up, we’re catching up to the team of Ms. Marvel cosplayers (aka Kamala’s friends) with Red Dagger following along. They’re making their way to the lair of The Inventor, using Zoe’s GPS phone signal leading the way.

Meanwhile, we find both Zoe and old man Harold inside the “science dungeon” tied to chairs. Zoe confesses to Harold that she’s a complete fraud and she’s not the real Ms. Marvel. She’s just been living a fantasy in trying to continue her legacy and it wasn’t as easy as she thought, but Harold tells her he knew she wasn’t the real deal anyway. Dr. Knox enters the room and is dressed to the nines in his slightly new Inventor bird costume.

The Ms. Marvel gang bust into the room in superhero style (reminiscent of The Power Rangers or even Dragonball Z’s Ginyu Force) to save the day. The Inventor releases his minion-bots and all hell breaks loose between our gang of heroes and these robots. Red Dagger releases both Zoe and Harold and informs her that it was Nakia’s idea to use GPS tracking to locate Zoe and this lair. As Nakia and Zoe stop to smile at each other from across the room, Zoe sees that Nakia is about to get stomped on by a giant tortoise-bot and pushes her out of the way. The bot stomps on what we’re led to believe is Zoe, but she’s somehow able to survive or dodge out of the way.

The Inventor admits he’s underestimated Ms. Marvel and her followers, but if our real polymorphic hero is not around to save the day, then that means Jersey City is left unprotected. The giant tortoise-bot then begins to trash the place and escapes down the road and into the city.

Red Dagger asks the group if there’s someone who they can call on to help. Preferably someone with more experience. Mike says she’s been keeping a locator pendant that she saw Ms. Marvel leave behind during the events that put Bruno in the hospital (during the Civil War II tie-in). For some reason, they decide to wait until the next morning to use it, but when they do, Carol Danvers - Captain Marvel - arrives to lend a helping hand.

The art team hasn’t changed and is still a strong point for this arc with some fun little details added in. No complaints here.

Bits and Pieces:

Things get dire in this issue and our cast of would-be heroes are in over their heads. The Inventor is taking his evil plans further by expanding it to Jersey City and the Ms. Marvel team desperately calls for back up. This issue ends with an interesting guest appearance and I’m looking forward to seeing this conclude next issue.
