Unholy Grail #4 Review
Tainted Lovecraft
Written by: Cullen Bunn
Art by: Mirko Colak
Publisher: Aftershock Comics
This is such a pleasure of a book. As a fan of all things Arthurian, I'm pretty pleased to have found a contemporary depiction that is much more successful than the recent films. I always said that comics were a superior medium. Anyway, this is the fourth part of Cullen Bunn's Lovecraftian take on the Arthurian saga, and old Merlin is scheming again behind the scenes. Hell hath no fury like a Wizard scorned. Or something like than - let's see what it's all about.
Brilliant Trash #1 Review
The Universal

Art by: Priscilla Petraites
Publisher: Aftershock
Review by: Andrew McAvoy
If there is a more exciting publisher than Aftershock Comics out there at the minute, I haven't found it. A number of their books are on my monthly essentials, but even those haven't come close to the ambition seen in this opening installment of Brilliant Trash. After the first few pages it is clear that this is a book that is going to make readers sing for their supper. Let's see what it is all about.

The Callousness of Crows
Written by: Gail Simone
Art by: Aaron Lopresti and Matt Ryan
Colours by: Wendy Broome
Letters by: Saida Temofonte
Published by: DC Comics/Dark Horse Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
Last issue saw our two heroes fight each other in an arena, get transferred to a smuggling ship, get threatened by randy sailors, see the ship they’re on get rammed by a Zingaran patrol boat, jump overboard in a desperate attempt to escape and, finally, get menaced by some impressively-rendered sharks. Phew! If all of that sounds action-packed, well, it is. Although much of the action could easily be categorized as padding. Will this issue’s action be any more purposeful? There’s only one way to find out…
Injustice 2 #32 Review
Injustice 2 #32

Flash Being Flashy
Well I personally was calling for a little more Earth action in this series, after taking a detour of sorts lately, and lucky for me I got exactly what I asked for. Do we check back in on the main events of the series? No, but we do get to drop in on Barry Allen, after a long absence, and it leads to a nice little one shot here. Interested yet? Why don't you donate a click to bloggers in need and check out this review for Injustice 2.

Now, I actually turned out to like the latest issue of this
series but having let it marinate for a month, I have come to the conclusion
that it isn’t as good as I previously thought. Granted, I think it is still one
of the better issues of this Batwoman series so far but that’s not exactly
saying much. It doesn’t help that we’ve been stuck in this god forsaken Many
Arms of Death storyline for nearly a year now. It honestly seems like we’ve
doubled down on this story and that makes me very worried for the future of
this book. I can’t imagine getting excited by any story involving the Many Arms
of Death and while I’m entertained by Scarecrow being in this series, I am
ultimately left unsatisfied. However, the series could always throw me a
curveball and I’ll end up liking this issue too. Let’s just jump in and find
out.

The Pits
Written by: Rob Williams
Art by: V. Ken Marion, Sandu Florea, Dinei Ribeiro and Tom Napolitano
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: November 15, 2017
It's the Dark Destiny finale and now that Circe has shown her true colors, I'm expecting an all-out battle this issue...between everyone. I can talk all about the story, but the thing I've been digging the most is V Ken Marion's awesome art. I know that will continue wowing me this issue, but does the story catch up before crossing the finish line? Let's find out...

It's the finale to the Bats out of Hell Metal tie-in and I have not been a fan so far, but I am all for a game winning Hail Mary that makes it all worthwhile. Yea, this issue continues with Cyborg's football talk so I figured I'd join in as well. So, is this issue heading for the Super Bowl or is it just...well, the Cleveland Browns? Let's find out...

I mentioned in my review and podcast that I am getting a little tired of this book and it's a shame. I love the Super Sons, but I need some story to go along with the charming leads. I really don't need much, just a little more. Is this the issue where I get my wish? Let's find out...

Publishe
After the startling expansion of the Wild Storm universe last issue and the brutal action of the one before it, we’re probably due a bit of a rest and that’s more or less what we get with this ninth issue of the Wild Storm. That’s not to say that this issue is dull, boring or without incident, though. Far from it. It’s just that, whereas the last couple of issues have broadened the series’ focus, this one deepens it. Allow me to explain…

comic coming out is worse than…what the…?! Well my stars and garters! There is

Do you think the Atlantean resistance has a fight
song? All sports teams and military coups should have a fight song. “Over coral
and giant oyster shells/ Through the deepest trides of the sea…” It just seems
correct. You have to assume the Atlantean military has a song or two to sing. Here’s
my soundless review of Aquaman #30,

It's time to head back to Apokolips and see how the Superman family will get out of the danger that Lex put them in by claiming he was the prophesied savior of that world way back in the Darkseid War. In our previous issue, we saw Lex out himself as a fraud by giving the people of Apokolips their actual savior, Superman and also, we saw Lois Lane become one of Granny's Female Furies...... Yeah, the Fury bit went on a little long, but all in all, it was still an awesome issue which led us here so without further delay, let's jump into this and see how Jon's faring on this hellish world. Let's check it out.

The Green Lanterns are back on Earth after saving the Molites from a supernova that destroyed their planet, while also saving a pop star daughter of a Ungaran Regent, who was orbiting the planet to watch the Green Lanterns in action. Too bad that someone on Ungara doesn't want the filthy Molites staying on their planet and is willing to kill to see that the planet remains pure. We've got all of that going on and Bolphunga on Earth with a few days to kill.......... not to mention, Jessica starting a job and Simon bunking out at one of the sector houses after he wasn't able to become gainfully employed. That's right, we've got a lot of shit going on in the world of the Green Lanterns so let's jump into this issue and see where Tim Seeley plans on taking us. Let's check it out.

Let's get back to the Blud, where Nightwing is going to have the fight of his life as the Marcus Casino becomes full of Blockbuster-ed out gamblers, who only want to eat and smash........ hopefully not in that order when it comes to our hero....... or any order really. Luckily though, the Run-Offs are on the case as well and have decided that a hero's life is right for them if it means keeping their city safe from Raptor and Pigeon's schemes. Let's jump into this issue and see how Nightwing can deal with some crazed out, muscle bound, high rollers as Raptor puts his final play into motion. Let's check it out.

We've reached the end of our Dark Knights from the Dark Multiverse with this issue and hopefully, DC saved the best for last because besides for The Merciless and The Devastator, I've found these one-shots to be pretty tedious and tired after awhile because for the most part, besides for the last two I mentioned, they followed the same formula for each story, while also confusing the hell out of me as to how the Dark Multiverse works with its negative numbering. Some are just random negative numbers, while other correspond with the positive counterpart and even if they all jived........ these are supposed to be nightmares and fears of our Batman....... so nothing really makes sense in the long run. I've gotten over that fact though so with that, let's check out The Batman Who Laughs and see what made the worst of the worst into the man he is today. Let's check it out.
