*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

The big bad and the traitor of the group has been revealed............ and it's Troia?  Yeah, that was a weird ass cliffhanger last issue, but hopefully once this arc wraps up it will all come together and make sense why Mister Twister, Key and Psimon were all working for this strange Donna Troy and to get to those answers, first we must jump into this issue and see how our heroes react to this person who was apparently locked away and found her way out by the villains of this story beating down her door with emotions............. Man, I hope all of this makes sense in the end.  Let's check it out.

Explain It!:

Our issue begins with Troia explaining that she's Donna Troy from the future and the reason she's come back in time is to make sure that Donna Troy never has to experience the pain of loving and losing since she's immortal and all her friends and loved ones would eventually die and leave her a shell of her former self, who then just becomes the weapon she was made to be......... Really though, it's just to expedite the process of becoming that weapon because this is what Troia really believes she is and doesn't want Donna wasting eighty years of loving her friends just to come to the same conclusion.

So yeah, that's what this issue is all about and reiterates nonstop throughout this story and the only bit of reprieve we get from the two Donna's repeating themselves is Kid Flash realizing that somehow him and Wally are connected and that he can't possibly be dead because he still feels the speed force inside of him.  In the end, Troia continues saying the same things and eventually decides that she needs to start killing her friends and asks Donna if she wants to help.

That's it for this issue of Titans and while the reveal of Troia being the Donna Troy of the future is cool, it doesn't make a lot of sense with what we've had so far with Twister, Key and Psimon working for her to bring her back to the past............ or even why the door preventing her from coming to the past had to be open with the emotions of the Titans.  I'm still leaning towards this big bad being the Antithesis, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.  As for the issue though, there isn't a lot going on here besides for repeated exposition, a fight scene and me caring only about what's going on with the two Wally's.  Yeah, the art is great in this issue, which is awesome because it's not our normal art team, but the art alone doesn't make up for this nothing of an issue and I just hope that we start getting something from this series because month after month it seems like we only get five minutes of actual story progression.

Bits and Pieces:

While the art is great in this issue, the story is just lacking because it doesn't do much besides reiterate the exposition about who our big bad is again and again.  Hopefully, things pick up in this series and this reveal starts making sense as the arc continues because right now, Titans is becoming a boring title and I never wanted that to happen.

5.8/10

  1. I find myself always coming back. But these last several issues have dragged on too long. This series isn't benefitting from a monthly release either. Some of my favorite art over at DC right now though.

  4. Spot on! The only thing I gave a shit about in this issue was what was going on with the two Wally's also, I pray this ends in the next issue.
