I have been real down on Daredevil as of late. It has been kind of depressing. I love DD and when I got the chance to review it for the site it was a no brainier choice. I believe it was bad timing on my part. Garney, the main artist was taking a break apparently. Since March he has done three issues of DD. I believe it is no coincidence that the first 14 issues of Soule's DD run are the strongest in story and art. Most of those are drawn by Garney. I bring that all up because this issue taps back into the greatness that started this whole run off. That great ancient Chinese Big Trouble In Little China noir feeling returns right now.

We open to Daredevil monologuing as he swings around town. He makes his way to Chinatown to check on Blindspot's mail box, with plans to ease his guilt.

If you don't remember Blindspot. I don't blame you it has been around ten issues since we have seen him last. Blindspot was the potential sidekick of Daredevil. He was an illegal Chinese immigrant that created his own invisibility suit out of every day house hold materials. Daredevil was training him and Matt was mentoring him. That is until Muse went on an artsy fartsie killing spree. Blindspot (Sam Chang) got caught up in Muse's artistic out put. Getting his eyes poked out in the process.

Daredevil takes the Blindspot mail to Sam Chung's sister for her to translate its contents. He wants to see if there is anyone he can help. Hannah is not in the most caring of moods. Who can blame her considering her mother was 10 Fingers' muscle till he was de-limbed by Muse. Her mother then ran off to China with Sam after his eyes were ripped from his head by Muse. So, Hannah has been fending for herself making lattes fifteen hours a day. She then comes across a letter addressed to Daredevil from Blindspot.

The letter prompts Matt to take a leave of absence from work. Which his boss is okay with because of his win in the Supreme Court. Matt hops a flight to China having Foggy ship his Daredevil suit to his hotel room. As soon as Matt arrives to his room he dawns his outfit and leaves. He heads for a temple that Blindspot gave him direction to. Where he is immediately attacked by The Hand led by Blindspot with glowing eyes.

Bits and Pieces:

This issue was effortless to read, even with the recap. Soule slid everything in you needed to continue on with the story. The art has me reenergized. Time to get back on the Daredevil bandwagon for this fan.

8.5/10
