I don’t want to do lazy shit reviews like this, but I have had it with
this comic book. It is nearly incomprehensible, and what can be understood is
so boring that it defies the very nature of storytelling. I am way past the
point of caring about anything happening or any character in this book, and
knowing that this writer will be done in two months saps any vestiges of
enthusiasm that might have lingered. This comic is fundamentally bad, on basic
execution. If you are still reading this, I feel sorry for you. And if you are
enjoying this comic book, I implore you to seek help. There are much better
shitty comics out there to throw four dollars at.
Bits and
Pieces:
Continuing to review this comic book does no service to you or myself, so this will be the last score I belch out for this creative team. See you all in August.
2/10
what happened here
ReplyDeleteI hate this book and will not be reviewing it anymore
DeleteAsk anything and I'll do it as long as you won't bail out on Hellblazer. Did I mention I'm saying this down on my knees.
Deletelol!
DeleteLove the review. Can't wait to see what Tim Seeley has in store. Fuck this book, I hopped off it a few issues ago, but kept up w/ your reviews. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I had such high hopes for this book when it came out, and they were dashed after the Rebirth Special. I'm not one to wish someone would lose their job, BUT Oliver (and Hitch) both need to quit writing or at least do the plot and let a REAL writer write their books.
ReplyDeleteI sentence them to a year on Scooby-Doo Adventures so they relearn the fundamentals of comic book storytelling!
DeleteHow can you subject kids to that. Thats just not right lol
DeleteI've been reading it and I'm up to this issue. It's genuinely awful and the writer is clearly politically very angry and it shows in his writing. He's focused on politics and not story telling. It's a paranormal detective comic and there's very little of either.
ReplyDeleteits just not good
