The team is being forced to rely on Deadpool to get them out of their situation, so I’m expecting a whole lot of fun from this issue. I’ve been really happy with the story Gerry Duggan has been writing thus far, so I’m going into this issue fully expecting him to continue with the crazy, action-packed fun. Let’s take a look-see, shall we?

Deadpool has called in backup in the form of Spider-Man and Wong. Yes, Wong, everyone’s favorite character from the Doctor Strange movie. Our pseudo-team is taking on the rest of the Unity Squad in an attempt to get Deadpool inside so he can take out the Red Skull, but they aren’t making it easy.

They end up giving up on attacking the team and instead Spider-Man throws Deadpool all the way to Avengers Mansion. Alone again, it’s up to Deadpool to figure out the rest. He takes out Sin and confronts Red Skull, but the mind-controlled Rogue comes just in the nick of time and starts testing the limits of Deadpool’s healing factor. The issue ends with Deadpool in a tough spot and everyone else still under Skull’s mind control.

I don’t know what else I can say about how much I love Pepe Larraz’s art. He continues to impress me with how well he draws such a variety of characters in this book. There is always a ton of stuff going on, but none of it looks rushed or sloppy. I hope Marvel realizes what a gem they have and utilize him more later on.

Bits and Pieces:

I’m a huge fan of this series. Gerry Duggan and Pepe Larraz continue to put out fun, fast-paced issues that look great each and every month. It feels like every member of the team has a reason to be there. I can’t recommend this book enough.

8.8/10
