Sort of reminded me of another version of Wondy, one I’ve grown quite fond of: the very Diana Prince found in the digital pages of Wonder Woman ’77! I don’t want to spoil too much, but like the character in the film, 1977’s Diana Prince kicks so much butt. I have been enjoying this series so much and now that we have almost all of the players in place, things can only get better. I can't wait to see Kirk, Spock and Hal save the day and...oh, who am I kidding?  While we want our heroes to win in the end, the best parts are always those darkest before the dawn moments where they tighten up their belts by one loop and don't feel the hunger pains as the shit hits the fan.  After last issue's ending, there is a real good chance that the shit will not only hit the fan, but will spray all over the walls and ruin your brand new comforter you got on sale at Sears.  You love that comforter.  By the way, who squats over a spinny thing with metal blades and drops a deuce anyway? Legends of Tomorrow has largely been an ok show. Is it as exciting and fun as the Flash? No. Is it as droll and confused as Arrow? No. So I approached this episode like I'd normally approach a movie starring Jackie Chan, with love but apprehension.

Anyways, I am glad to watch this episode. The setting of "Night of the Hawk", takes place in the 1950's (an era that I've only experienced through Back to the Future) and as a curious person I want to know more about it. I know Jim spent his early twenties in that time period, but for some reason he refuses to say anything about it. I guess, that means I should get on with the review then..

They should rename this book the Twilight Titans, because apparently the book is Rebirthing in June with a new creative team and Damien Wayne at the helm. So that gives this arc a neat four issues to do whatever it’s going to do, which isn’t likely to be very much. Unless this is one of the books continuing while Rebirth debuts? The whole thing is so confusing, I can’t figure out what’s going to happen come June. Looks to me like we’re currently on the Wonder Girl Character Rehab Tour right now, which is a pretty noble endeavor since she has been a real drag in this series. Hopefully this will cheer some fans of the character before the book is totally revamped? I feel like I’m playing a violin on the sinking Titanic here. Coming in really late for the review of this issue, which is crazy to me for how much I loved this series and the Masters of the Universe series that proceeded it.  I don't know if I just got caught up in DC Superhero comics and forgot all about the sorcery and science world of Eternia or what, but it's time to finish off the Eternity War and find out if Skeletor is able to go all end of the Universe on our asses........ since there aren't many superhero books out this week.  Also, in all honesty I might be on a MOTU kick again because my Man-E-Faces and Tri-Klops figures came in the mail today and I've been playing with them like I was five years old again.  Good times.  Okay, let's jump into this issue, where Prince Adam has shed his King Hiss-ness, has put out the fires of Horokoth in the Grayskull forge and has become a new all powerful He-Man.  Let's check out He-Man and Skeletor's final showdown.

Since we finished with the nonsense of Thule, we saw our hero Aquaman realizing that Atlantis and the surface world need to be better friends........... or friends in general........... lousy no good, judgy surface dwellers.  To accomplish this task, our hero has decided to create a embassy in Amnesty Bay so that Atlantis can have relations with the United Nations and Arthur's put Mera in charge of the whole shebang.  Pretty much, it's to put a positive spin on Atlantis while Aquaman goes off to play hero and to give the people what they want.......... and apparently what they want is putting Mera in a Aquaman costume and calling her Aquawoman........ I don't know if that will lead to good relations or not, but it's certainly sexy as hell.  Let's jump into this over-sized fiftieth issue and see if whatever was killing everyone using water as it's means of travel will put a negative spin on how people see Atlanteans during this crucial time........ of course it will, let's check it out.

Well, it’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these for Arrow. Yes, I know, I didn’t write a review for last week’s episode. It’s called college life and the little time you get! Anyway, I thought the episode was good… Though the less I see of Cupid the better. The other thing that continues to annoy me is how quickly Felicity throws away this life she had with Oliver… Over a lie, he was forced to make! If this was season 3, and we just learned about the plan to take down the league from the inside, I'd understand! However, William(his son) HAD to be kept a secret! Not only because his mom asked, but because he could have been put in danger… JUST LIKE WHAT HAD HAPPENED! Anyway, this week will be the first week without Felicity on the team, which is a problem with the Bug-Eyed Bandit coming for blood! So what happens?! Let’s find out…

Is this still a book that I review?  I have lost so much interest in this title because of how it takes forever for an issue to come out and when it finally does show up, with flowers and "I love yous", I just have a hard time taking it seriously because I have no idea where it's been......... Yeah, that's a weird way of saying that I have no idea what's been going on in this book because of the long breaks between releases.  It's gotta be reviewed though so I put on my thinking cap and remembered that in the previous issue we had Superman become a prisoner of Rao, strapped up in his main space ship cathedral and then Superman used his strength and flying ability to force the cathedral into the moon.  There is a lot of other stuff going on in this book, but it's really all over the place at this point and the only thing I think you need to know is that Batman and Cyborg are trying to come up with a plan to stop Rao and Wonder Woman and Aquaman have gathered Olympian weapons to take on the mad God........... even though Wonder Woman is Olympus........... man, that's stupid.  Anyway, let's jump into this issue and see what our Justice League team can do to take down Rao and hopefully turn this title around............ hopefully they have the power to make this book come out on time.  Let's check it out.

Well, we have finally made it.  This is the end of the road for Batman and Robin Eternal and
depending on where you stand on the series, I guess you will have different emotions playing around your pretty little heads right now.  Most of you already know that I haven't been the biggest fan of this weekly, but I actually am sad to see it end, only because I was hoping for so much more. However, the storytelling and the constant rule breaking killed it for me and up until this finale, I consider it yet another disappointing weekly series from DC. Much to my many haters chagrin, though, I have stuck with it and am one of the few people who reviewed every single issue. Claims of bias aside, give me a little props for that at least.  So, it's with a little hope and a little fear that I jump into the last issue of Batman and Robin Eternal.  Does it tie things up in a satisfying way that makes the entire series worthwhile or is it just another issue that pisses me off...or is it somewhere in between?  Let's find out...

Boy, things sure have turned around on CW’s the Flash, haven’t they? Last episode, we learned that Jay Garrick, or his doppelganger, is actually Zoom! Someone they’ve trusted all season long turns out to be the big bad guy! Come to think of it, that’s exactly what happened last season, too. And now we’ve got “good guy” Harrison Wells from Earth-2, someone they didn’t trust at first but who has turned out to be very forthright. Even though he did try to steal Barry’s speed for Zoom a few episodes back. Seems like the message here is that trusting people is idiotic. Heck, I’m starting to look at Iris a little suspiciously. Do we really know that she’s Joe West’s daughter? I mean, has anyone seen the birthing pictures? As far as I’m concerned, everyone’s a suspect on this show, and I’ll start naming names once I figure out all the crimes that have been committed. In the meantime, read my review and recap of the Flash episode 17—but don’t take this as an indication that I trust you, either!

When we last left our heroes the darkness was setting in. Blaine was dying and took the experimental serum created by Ravi. Ravi was slaving away on the new zombie cure. Major was still marking Zombies for the good folks at Max Rager. The good folks at Major suffered a huge set back when Vaughn’s daughter Glinda/Rita was attacked and turned to a zombie. Drake was drugged by Major and tossed into the trunk of his Chaos killer mobile and Liv was broken hearted offering a voice over about sadness. 

Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #3 Review

I'll admit it, when I first heard about this crossover, I laughed out loud.  It sounded so ridiculous (maybe not as crazy as the MIB/22 Jump Street movie), but I can't really say why.  Maybe it's because the current run of Batman has been so serious under Scott Snyder, but really, this is kind of a match made in Heaven...Fanboy Heaven!  Seriously, it's taking two ridiculously popular franchises and mashing them together for everyone to enjoy.  What can be wrong with that?  After reading the first two issues of the series, my answer to that is "not much".  James Tynion and Freddie Williams not only have nailed the characterizations of every character involved, but have given readers a great premise for why everything is happening.  Last issue ended with the Turtles entering the Batcave and if that didn;t make you smile, you might as well stop reading comics.  So, does this issue continue the fun and do we finally get the teamup we've all been waiting for?  Let's find out...

Diana has found herself in the Outside World.  Why would I fear that?  Because I was loving every bit of the story of Diana growing up on Themyscira.  Granted, I'm positive that Renae De Liz and Ray Dillon will have me loving this next chapter in Diana's life, but it's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday...that really should be a song.  Oh well, time to dry my eyes and move forward as Diana takes her first steps in a larger world that has seen it's share of darkness.

That magnificent bastard Greg Berlanti did the unthinkable: he had a crossover between two shows on two different networks. Does he realize what he’s unleashed with the implication that different television networks are actually inter-dimensional variations of the universe that we know, and that with the proper speed and while wearing a special chest plate characters can cross between them? This means that Bob Newhart could show up on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Bart Simpson could stroll right onto The Walking Dead. And I’m pretty sure it’s implied that our existence is merely the broadcast offerings of some television channel to many others within the tele-multiverse. I’m hoping this dimension is at least like an HGTV or a DIY Network or something, I’d hate to think that we were a Spike Network or one of those really lame channels that are all about cars or whatever. The reality is, we’re some other dimension’s Hallmark Channel and we know it. Let us be resigned to our plebian fates and immerse ourselves into the latest episode of Supergirl, wherein she teams up with the Fastest Man Alive, and doubles her life’s awesomeness while we are tipping Doritos crumbs onto our faces from a distended plastic bag. I haven't been reviewing Justice League 3001 for a bit, but it was more of a busy work thing than a I don't like this book anymore thing.  I would actually consider myself one of the biggest fans of this book (and JL 3000 as well) out there and am truly sad that it is going away.  That being said, I am sure that both Keith Giffin and J.M. DeMatteis have to be happy that the book lasted this long and they got to tell their crazy stories...and if you haven't been reading, they are CRAZY stories.  While all the other books in the New 52 were trying to fins their way in a somewhat mysterious continuity, Giffen and DeMatteis just said, "Screw it!" and kind of made up their own rules as they went.  Funny thing is, it all worked!  This was story over continuity before Dan Didio ever made a video explaining it and it's one of the things I loved about it.  That and the humor, characters and art.  So, now that I have punched my fanboy card, I guess I should review this issue.  It continues the all female Justice League vs Lady Styx story that appears to be this book's swan song.  Is it any good?  Let's find out...

Well, here I am. I fought desperately not to become this site’s “Harley Quinn guy,” despite reviewing most of the Harley Quinn & Power Girl mini, then taking on Harley Quinn’s Little Black Book, agreeing to review the Harley Quinn & Her Gang of Harleys comic coming in April, writing about Harley Quinn’s Road Trip from a couple of months ago, and also doing New Suicide Squad (featuring Harley Quinn) since Seeley and Ferreyra became the creators…I figured whether I like it or not, I’m the Harley Quinn Guy. I don’t mean that to sound like I dislike Harley at all—I like the character, and I think Conner & Palmiotti have done a lot with her. But I do find individual issues hit-or-miss (though the artwork is always top notch) and, knowing how popular Harley Quinn is, I feel like there are people better-suited to my task. But it must be done! And so read on to read my review of Harley Quinn #26, the first solo Harley Quinn book I’ve ever critiqued and spoiled the crap out of!

This is another Just for the Hell of it Mondays review and I say it every time, but this is why we set up this day in the first place.  I love DC Comics and all (well, maybe not all) of their books, but they fall along a pretty confined space of the comic book landscape.  That space does not include any sort of historical fiction or fantasy and that's what drew me to this book.  In fact, it was mainly the cover that did it for me and while I am not a "judge a book by it's cover" type of guy, I'm glad it caught my eye.  So, did Monday's moratorium on our DC only policy lead me to another gem?  Let's find out...

Walker's last issue on the series, I find myself a bit bummed.  I mean, I wasn't a huge fan of his first arc, but I have to tell you that it really seems like he found his footing with this Cybernetic Regulations Act story........ and hell, anyone who gives me The Metal Men and Shazam in a book is immediately on my Christmas Card list.  Expect me in the mail in December David because I'll be sporting the dopiest of sweaters.  Anyway, Cyborg's been fun as hell and now with the government coming down on Vic and wanting to bring him in citing National Security, I can't wait to see what happens when Cyborg becomes Public Enemy #1.  Let's jump into this issue and see how our hero plans on overcoming the odds and retaining his hero status in the eyes of our officials and of the people.  Let's check it out.

It's Monday again and that means that the folks here at Weird Science get to review anything they damn well please.  So, I am going to review " The Paybacks" which is a book that Alex has been pushing for me to review for quite some time.  Actually, he gave up a while back and probably thought it was never going to happen.  Thankfully, he was wrong and I am so glad that I finally got off my ass (actually, I am sitting while writing this, so "on my ass") and read it.  If you like hilarious satire and over-the-top fun, then this is definitely a book for you.  I don't know why I'm already telling you all this and not just starting my review, except Reggie has put a minimum word count rule on our introduction paragraphs.  Okay, that's 137 words (such an odd number to demand), now on with the review...
