Well, it looks like we're right back to where we started with this series....... or really, right back to where we started with the Rebirth Special because when we left the previous issue, we saw Wally West run fast enough to go and get his ass stuck in the Speed Force again.  So yeah....... that's a weird turn, but I'm guessing that we need this little story to end our arc so that we can find out why it will never happen again.  Yeah, like anyone thinks that Wally is gone forever and we'll just be dealing with the rest of our Titan heroes the rest of the run.  I don't care if we have Nightwing, Donna Troy or Arsenal in this book, Wally West is the star and you know we'll be seeing that boy return but quick.  Let's jump into this issue and see if there's anything more to it than that.  Let's check it out.

Explain It!:

Our issue begins with Wally West disappearing in the Speed Force and Abra Kadabra rubbing it in Linda Park's face because without the knowledge of a timeline where Wally and her were lovers, Kadabra believes that Linda won't ever be able to be Wally's lightning rod again and thus, he'll be gone forever.  Now, Kadabra says that he wants to get corroboration for his story and teleports the rest of the Titans to his location, but really, this is just a way for the Titans and him to get into a big fight so that we can pad out our story........ Which it does, but it also leads us to get some more exposition about what the future holds for our heroes when Omen locks in on Kadabra's mind and sees that it is a terrible place that's in her explanation "Clockwork", but the good news about all this is that it only seems to be a possible future that has yet to be completely set.  Yeah, I don't know how a mind reader would know this or even how Kadabra would know this since he came from that future, but it all goes in line with what we're all excited for in Rebirth and that's the eventual connection of the Watchmen Universe that the Rebirth Special alluded to.

While the fight goes on in the real world, Wally seems to be spending his time in a sort of Speed Force heaven that is created from wally's memories of a timeline that never was thanks to the missing ten years in the Universe, but even after all Wally's gone through, it seems that his subconscious or the Speed Force itself doesn't want him to rest and makes sure that he knows none of this is real, but there is a real Linda Park out there that Wally could be with if he only goes back.  Really, it shouldn't be a problem for Wally to get back because we already saw Barry pull him out once he was able to remember who Wally was and now that all of his Titan friends remember him, it should be all easy peasy....... which it is.  That's right, all Wally has to do is think of his friends and he is able to find his way home and in a single stride, he pierces through the Speed Force, punches Kadabra and throws him back into the time stream, sending him back to where he belongs.

As our issue closes, we get the normal love fest that we've come to expect from this title as the Titans all gather for a group hug and tell Wally how happy they are to see him and if that's not enough love to go around, Wally even gets the nerve up to ask Linda Park out.......... Yeah, she's a little apprehensive about it, but she agrees as long as she gets an exclusive and Wally promises that she'll never be a part of his craziness ever again.  As our issue closes, we're left with our heroes thinking about the future that Omen saw in Kadabra's head and what the one word that she saw over and over in there meant.  "Manhattan".  All this and Deathstroke watching from a undisclosed location, wondering who this new Flash is.

That's it for this issue of Titans and even though we get Wally stuck in the Speed Force again and the rest of our heroes just battling it out with Abra Kadabra, we did get some insight to what I've been thinking all along and that's that this book is a big deal and is going to be something that we all should be reading when it comes to the mysteries of Rebirth.  Yeah, I say that and really, it could be a long ass time before we get anymore revelations of any kind if we get any from here at all, but this issue certainly feels like this is the book to be reading, even if there wasn't a whole lot going down during this first arc.  I say all that, but month after month I still find myself really enjoying this series and the fantastic art that depicts it and this issue doesn't change that at all.  It's still beautiful to look at and fun to read, not to mention that I love all the character involved....... even if they don't have a whole lot to do at the moment.  So yeah, while there's not much new coming from this issue, the small reveals that we get here are enough to keep me hyped for the series overall.

Bits and Pieces:

Titans continues to be one of the best looking books that Rebirth has to offer and even though we're pretty much just retreading old ground here, there's some minor reveals that keep me pretty hyped for this series and get me excited for what it could bring in the future.

8/10

    1. I'm really hoping now that the Return of Wally West arc is over that we will get the rest of the team doing stuff because they've really had nothing to do at all. With that said though, I'm still considering Wally to be the star of the series.
