Mind Boggling Adventure of Roller Coasting Emotions

First, I’ve had problems with this Injustice: Ground Zero because of the abundant use of fight scenes in the past few issues. Now, I have a lot of problems with the story. This week, it’s “Muscle Car(?)” Part 2 and Harley doesn’t even ride the damn thing until the end of the chapter. Anyway, let’s get into the story and my thoughts.

We begin the chapter with Harley explaining, again, that Batman had brought over the duplicate heroes for the use of activating a weapon to combat Superman. Batman explains to them that they need their DNA to activate the weapon to neutralize him and not necessarily kill him. He also takes the opportunity to explain it to these heroes how the world became what it was, telling them that Superman killed the Joker because Lois died by Joker’s cause. They all reach the manor to locate the weapon. We then get to Harley and her goons breaking into the cave with Billy still unconscious and in their custody. Harley has a crap map that isn’t going to lead them anywhere, even having the old Konami code as a directional instruction. They bump into Man-Bat sleeping that leads to a hilarious interaction with the two, hinting at their battle earlier in the story. He points them to the right direction to the Batcave.

Meanwhile, Green Arrow, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman are in Wayne Manor, trying to locate the weapon. For whatever reason, Killer Frost and Solomon Grundy bust through a door in the Manor and they all start fighting, ending with our heroes winning. Batman and Aquaman are doing something else (what the hell are any of them really doing?) and they have a hilarious exchange about everyone having facial hair. We cut back to Harley reaching the Batcave where they run into Nightwing. He and Harley then fight and Harley wins (of course). Harley then succeeds in stealing the Batmobile and rides off. He calls Babs again to tell her she’s on her way to Batman with a special surprise (the Batmobile).

Art:
The art is fine here, I still don’t have anything to really say about it. Raapack’s art is different but I like it. I like that Harley doesn’t have any pupils, looks like that classic superhero cowl look.

Thoughts:
This chapter makes no damn sense. Are Harley and Batman at the same Wayne Manor? It’s not made clear and makes no sense as to why neither of them bumped into each other. Harley is narrating and she knew Batman was at Wayne Manor with the duplicate heroes so why does she storm out of the Batcave with the Batmobile? Where is she going? Why are Killer Frost and Grundy in the Wayne Manor? Where did they come from? What were they waiting for? What the hell is going on in this chapter? How does Harley beat the shit out of Damian without a green pill? We know by now that damned thing wore off. I have no idea what’s going on here. The chapter does have some really funny moments though but they’re killed by the plot holes this chapter is drowning in.

Bits and Pieces:

When I first read this issue, I enjoyed it more than I have been in the past couple issues. But I read it again. And then I kept thinking about what was going on. It’s an absolute cluster of plot holes. Still has fighting! But it’s team fighting that I really enjoy but it’s unwarranted. I also hate titles of stories where the thing mention isn’t shown until the last couple pages.

5/10
