This edition of Five Questions With... features one of my favorite DC writers, Deathstroke's James Bonny. Not only is he killing it by giving fans a fun, severed limb filled romp that feels like reading a 90's action movie, but he's an all around nice guy. I don't know how many times I've asked him questions about a current issue and he has gotten right back to me and only once did he call me a dummy. Actually, he never has, but he should have! So, it's no shock that he was kind enough to put up with our nonsense for this interview and for that, I thank him. Please show your support by picking up Deathstroke #15 this week...It's got James, Tyler Kirkham on art and Slade going up against an army of Bizarros...yes, an ARMY of Bizarros! On with the questions...
1. What are you working on right now and or is coming out soon?
This interview.
Also I'm writing the plot for Deathstroke #17, entitled: "Showdown at Copper Cliff." (Cue the Ennio Morricone score.) It hits stores April 27th.
2. Deathstroke (the character and the comic) is an action movie lovers dream, so what was the last dream you remember having?
To the best of my hazy recollection, it involved Lindsay Lohan, a vat of baked beans, and a midget clown. Damn you Ambien!
3. Do you ever get mistaken for James Bonny, the infamous pirate? How do you convince them that's not you?
It's very annoying. It's the reason I try not to dress like a pirate in my daily life. (I said "try.")
Actually the most annoying thing is "James Bonny" was not very successful. His wife, Anne Bonny, however, was a much more successful pirate. Which, quite frankly, is a dynamic which is eerily similar to my relationship with my own wife.

4. You have a history of taking over Tony Daniel's books...is he terrified anytime you enter the room?
Tony Daniel is the reason I'm even working in the comic book business. About twelve years ago Tony and I were collaborating on a screenplay. The guys at Top Cow contacted Tony wanting him to pencil "Tomb Raider." He told them he'd do it if I could be the writer. I remember telling Tony, "that's great! Can you show me how?"
5. Word association...what is the first thing that comes to mind when I say:
Harley Quinn - Scary sexy
Bloodsport - The Trump campaign
Tyler Kirkham - One of the VERY BEST illustrators in the business
Chicken Wings - Not enough meat for the effort. (Oh if I had a dime for every time I heard... never mind.)
6. Which Steve Guttenberg movie is the best...Police Academy 2, Short Circuit or Three Men and a Little Lady?
"Diner."
Actually, I worked with "the Gute" a few years back when we were developing an animated TV series together called "Super Circus Hamsters." If it would've taken off he probably wouldn't be doing movies for SyFy Channel now... and I probably wouldn't be doing this interview.

7. Best action movie one-liner?
"Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!"
8. What makes Hawkman so damn savage?
9. When are we going to see Snakebite again?
I'd like to once again thank James for doing this and don't forget to check out Deathstroke!
You should see his brother William.
