Holy cow, its Taco Tuesday! Oh...and Olive battles Batman!
Boy, that's an informative solicit. Who writes these things, Eric?!?! I guess if you are a fan of the book (like myself), you have a good idea of what to expect this issue. Batman brooding, Killer Croc being cool, Man-Bat Tristen being mysterious, Maps referencing Dungeons and Dragons and me loving every minute of it. My protest is over and I can't wait for this issue.

Fame!
*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*
In the last issue of Teen Titans, we saw our angsty heroes take on some rogue scientists, who broke into the Governors Island STAR facility to steal some sealed off weapons. One of them being a device that could stop time, so that put our heroes in a real bind. It was a good thing that Raven being all mystical like she is could overcome time itself and Beast Boy for some reason being able to defy time because................. He turned into a mayfly.......... I don't know, it didn't make a lot of sense to me but we'll go with it. So while our mad scientists prepped a bomb to destroy New York, our heroes caught them by surprise, saved the day and became celebrities for their efforts. As the issue closed we saw the head evil scientist break his restraints, kill the officers transporting him and walk away from the exploding vehicle as he was on fire himself.......... Which led me to all sorts of Terminator references. Let's see if our heroes can overcome the celebrity bug and get back to business or if they'll go the way of Batgirl. Let's check it out.
Batman: Arkham Knight #5 Review
Written by: Peter J. Tomasi
Art by: Viktor Bogdanovic
Cover Price: $0.99
Release Date: March 20, 2015
If you've read my other reviews for Arkham Knight, you will know that I've been impressed with the series. The story and art are top notch and already have me salivating for the game to come out. I really want to know everything about this Arkham Knight and see how Batman reacts to what appears to be a "killer" rival in his City. That's why last week's issue was a bit of a disappointment. Sure, I always enjoy a good Joker tale, but I'm growing weary of these so-called origin stories that keep you guessing about what is real and what is not. It did end on a cool cliffhanger that had me excited about this week's issue. We may not get any new Arkham Knight developments, but we get one of my favorite characters...Harley Quinn. Does she make this issue worth reading? Let's find out...

Weird Science DC Comics Podcast Episode 10: DC’s June Solicits, Sad Sacks and Greg Rucka
Jim and Eric spend the bulk of the podcast talking about the newly released June Solicits and suddenly become the Fashion Police. They also talk about this week's books, why they hate Greg Rucka, their favorite bands and what Jim's favorite John Hughes movie is (hint: It's not The Breakfast Club). There is a little less nonsense this week and the show still clocks in at three and a half hours. Oh well, enjoy!
Batwoman #39 Review
Written by: Marc Andryeko
Art by: Georges Jeanty
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: February 18, 2015
I have been a supporter of Marc Andreyko since he took over this book. All you haters, please step back a bit and look at what the guy walked into. Batwoman had a fan base that may not have been huge, but was hugely loyal. By the way, I was part of that group and it killed me when DC not only dashed all of our dreams, but forced our beloved creative team to quit the book. I really can't remember a tougher situation facing a creative team as when Andreyko and artist, Jeremy Haun, agreed to continue this book. Maybe some of you out there would have preferred the alternative, for it to just end, but I was glad and even optimistic that we would continue getting great stories involving Kate and Maggie. Well, it didn't quite work out the way I was hoping and the book has slipped away from the things that made it a must read for me and most of it's fans. Gone is the Kate-Maggie relationship and the whole balancing a personal life with a secret superhero one has gone out the window. This final arc has been an action packed slug fest with Kate teaming up with a ragtag bunch of villains and heroes that will ultimately lead to a showoff in space. While this story has been inconsistent at best, I was really hoping that the last two issue of the series would give Kate a good sendoff that everyone could be happy about. Does this issue do just that? Let's find out...

Secret Origins #11 Preview
Written By: Ray Fawkes, Christy Marx, Landry Walker

Cover Price: $4.99
Release Date: March 25, 2015
The secret history of The New 52 comes to a close with a bang! Don’t miss the origins of Black Canary, by Christy Marx and Dave Bullock; Red Lantern Guy Gardner, by Landry Q. Walker and Scott Hepburn; and John Constantine, by Ray Fawkes and Richard Isanove!
It's the final issue of Secret Origins and while this title usually goes with an A list character and two B listers, this issue is packed with stars in my opinion. So yeah, it's going out in style. I've had my problems with this series because of most just retelling stories that had appeared recently but I am curious to see what these creators do for this roster of characters........ and it doesn't hurt that we get to relive some of Black Canary's greatest hits before her new direction in June.

Aquaman #40 Preview
Written by: Jeff Parker
Art by: Paul Pelletier
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: March 25, 2015
The family reunion turns lethal when the dark truth behind his “dead” mother’s return is finally revealed to Aquaman and his kingdom!
This is Jeff Parker's and Paul Pelletier's last issue of Aquaman and both have done a great job. Jeff Parker took over from Geoff Johns and brought some humor along with this kick ass Maelstrom story, while Pelletier has been nailing the art the whole time. This issue is also the last I'll be reviewing of Aquaman. Eric is taking it over in June so this issue is bound to be bittersweet for me in a bunch of ways. I can't wait to see how it all ends.

Supergirl #40 Review
Written by: K. Perkins and Mike Johnson
Art by: Emanuela Lupacchino
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: March 18, 2015
I have been a big fan of Perkins and Johnson's run on Supergirl. Others may have scoffed at the whole Crucible Academy story, but to me it sounded like a lot of fun. Guess what? It was. Unfortunately, it ended a bit too soon. Too soon for me and also (it seems) for the creative team. I am sad that we didn't get to see the full potential of this story, but the writers did a great job of ending it without it feeling too rushed. So, it's with a heavy heart that I review this last issue of Supergirl (for now) and say goodbye to a kick ass creative team that should have been on this book for a lot longer.

Trio No More
*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*
Well, it's finally here all you Outlaw fans............ The final issue of our trio kicking ass and taking names...... Well, taking them when they leave their enemy's jaw intact. Seriously though, this is a sad day for me because while this series has had it's ups and downs, it has been a source of constant joy for me where I could just sit back and see badassery take place with a few quips thrown in for good measure and even though Red Hood will be returning with Arsenal in June, I just don't know if it will be the same........... Okay, enough sad sacking around. In the last issue, we had Red Hood, Arsenal and Crux searching the Brazilian Rain Forest for Starfire and when they finally found their friend, they also found Rose Wilson and even though there were some stressed feelings between these characters, everyone had to put their drama on hold because Helpont has come to Earth and plans on making it his own. Let's check out this final issue and see if our Outlaws can save the world one more time.
Batman: Eternal #50 Review
Written by: James Tynion IV
Art by: Alvaro Martinez
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: March 18, 2015
I can see the finish line, guys. The ribbon is stretched across the road just waiting for all of us Batman: Eternal fans to break through, collect our trophies and go get a sandwich or something. I still haven't wrapped my head around what I think about this series as a whole...how could I? With only a couple of issues left, there are still so many loose ends dangling that things can become great or awful at the drop of a dime. I will tell you, however, that the last month has been fun. Seeing some of Batman's greatest villains beating the crap out of the Bat Family (and vice versa) has been a blast, it just hasn't pushed the story forward much. Well, we get another creative team change (Tynion and Martinez this issue), but the issue continues the trend of fun times with little story...until the end. That's right, this issue ends with the villain reveal we've been waiting for for almost a year. Was it worth the wait or is it a bit of be careful what you wish for? Let's find out...

Who's ready for another Endgame tie-in? Well, I hope you all are because here it is. Now we all know that the Joker's up to no good as Batman Endgame has shown and one of the biggest things that he's done in that story arc is to jokerize most of the citizens of Gotham with a new toxin that Batman can't find a cure for, which means that the rest of the Bat Family has their hands full taking care of business as they defend their city. As I hope you all know by this point, this is Batgirl's adventure in keeping people safe as Gotham turns itself upside down. Let's check it out.

*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*
During the last issue of Batgirl and Secret Origins, we saw that the person who has been trying to destroy Barbara was actually Barbara herself........... Well, at least a brainscanned/crime algorithm version of her from when she was paralyzed. Think Lawnmower Man 2 and then instantly forget about that because it was awful. It's a good thing that Barbara patched things up with Black Canary before Frankie went and got herself kidnapped because this just might be more than Batgirl can handle. Let's check this out and see if Batgirl can put her current vanity aside and step up to the plate and unplug her digital doppelganger or if it's game over for our Batgirl of Burnside.
Superman #39 Review
Written by: Geoff Johns
Art by: John Romita Jr.
Cover Price: $3.99
Release Date: March 18, 2015
So much has happened to Superman recently that you'd hope the guy could just get a day to be himself. Actually, if you're Superman, being yourself is not too relaxing...saving everyone all the time and all. Well, Geoff Johns uses this issue to show Superman not being himself for a day and it's a nice diversion from the norm and also plants the seed for the book's future direction. It's a nice issue that ends Johns' run on the book and while I would have expected something a little more epic, it does remind the reader what makes our favorite character so Super.

Life Goes On
*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*
It's the final issue of New Guardians and with it the ultimate fate of our White Lantern: Kyle Rayner. In the last issue we saw that our hero had his hands full as Oblivion (the dark side of Kyle Rayner brought into existence with the Life Equation) tried to destroy our hero in what came off as a almost noble act. As we all saw in the New Guardians Futures End tie in, Kyle becomes a bit of a power hungry god Five Years From Now and Oblivion actually wants to prevent this by killing Kyle. Don't worry though, Kyle has himself some friends, so even though we saw the life being sucked out of our hero at the end of last issue we also saw the cavalry coming to his rescue........... No, not the Corps but it's an impressive group consisting of the Guardians, Saint Walker, Saysoran, Carol Ferris and Exeter. Let's check this out and see if our heroes can overcome or if we're left with nothing but Oblivion.

Knee to Face Style...How You Like It?
I have to admit, of all the books coming out this week, this is the one I've been most looking forward to. While it seems that the "Superman's Joker" story isn't getting as much play as I believe it should, I've really enjoyed it. Xa-Du, Kandor, Batman, Supergirl, Superman...Greg Pak has done a great job giving the readers a story that's been part mystery, part action adventure and just really good. Does this issue continue the trend? Let's see...

Come Together......... Right Now......... Over Apokolips
*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*
It's time to breach the dimensional gap once again and go check in on our heroes of Earth-2....... or Wonders if you prefer. In the last issue we saw the would be saviors of Earth-2 come together and fight their way though the barrier enveloping the planet and that Green Lantern really has no idea how to use his powers. Eventually though, Alan Scott came through and punched a hole in the barrier allowing our Superman heroes to get a much needed sun bath and allowing an exit point for Commander Sato and the survivors of the planet to evacuate through. It's all coming to a head as the final issues of World's End are on the horizon. Let's check this out and see if they have a prayer or if all is doomed and Darkseid conquers another world.

The Future Is Now
*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*
Welcome back to the future where our heroes after beating the "god" Brainiac have a new threat on their hands as the future we all saw in issue #0 is coming to pass as Brother Eye has been activated and used all the dead bodies littered throughout Territech as it's own Borg-ed out soldiers. Not only that though, we have a whole lot of side stories that need to be tied up before this series can end, so let's see if they are as interesting as Brother Eye taking over the world........... Yeah, I doubt it but loose ends sink ships.................. or something like that. Let's check it out.

I Know The Secret!
Hey Everyone! Do you know what time it is? It's time for a super late review! Yeah, that's right I'm so behind and I'm still trying to play catch up but really this is a title that I don't mind being behind on because for the most part it just rehashes things that we already know and we feel cheated after reading and not finding out the secret that DC promised us. Hopefully though, that isn't the case here as we dive into the secret origins of Batgirl, Firestorm and Poison Ivy.............. Yeah, I'm not a fan of the title but maybe we'll all learn something and for once this title won't disappoint....... Optimism! Let's check it out.
The Flash Season 1 Episode 15 "Out of Time" Review
REPEAT
PERFORMANCE
After a weeks of waiting, we finally return to Central City with our Scarlet Speedster. When we last left The Flash, we said farewell to Firestorm as he goes off to try and have a spin-off series and Harrison Wells gives Grodd the man of his torture, General Eiling. We now have a new Weather Wizard to fight, and the truth of Well's to be revealed to Cisco and Caitlin. In the recent Paleyfest trailer, it revealed quite a few crazy things coming down the pipline as the season runs to it's finale. By the looks of it, things are going to get a whole lot more heavy in the coming weeks. This heaviness starts HERE!

Gotham Academy #5 Review
Written by: Becky Cloonan and Brenden Fletcher
Art by: Kark Kerschl
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: February 25, 2015
Anybody close to our site or podcast will know that I've put off reviewing this book as a bit of an informal protest. It's not that I don't like Gotham Academy...that's the problem, I love it. However, after giving it high marks and singing it's praises on this site, on ours and other podcasts, writer Brenden Fletcher told me not to talk to him anymore. It really made me sad. Sure, it was all about Eric and his Batgirl reviews, but it still hit me hard. So, I decided not to read or review this issue. That's the benefit of having your own site, you can do what you want, when you want. Well, now that I've simmered down and let the hate flow out of me, I'm ready. I'll admit, a little spot buried deep in the dark part of my soul was hoping this issue was bad so I could rip it apart. Shake your head all you want, but don't judge me because I'm honest. Did my dark desire come true? Let's find out...

This emotional story reveals a rarely seen side of The Man of Steel as an ordinary person, as the super-star team of Geoff Johns, John Romita, Jr. and Klaus Janson continue their epic run on the series!
This is it, the last issue of Superman with Geoff Johns writing. I wish I could say that this run was unbelievable, but it just didn't last long enough. Don't get me wrong, it was good...I was just hoping for more. Maybe this issue is the "more" I've been waiting for.

It’s time for final exams at the Crucible Academy – and they may just spell the death of Supergirl!
This issue is so bittersweet for me. I have fallen in love with Supergirl and the Crucible Academy story only for the book to get canceled. After the sad news was announced, I have had nothing but respect for Perkins and Johnson who took a bad situation and still gave us a great story. I sense that they had to put things on fast forward, but it has still been so good and hasn't felt forced or rushed. Of course, Emanuela Lupacchino's art has also been stellar and I will miss this creative team after this issue. I can't wait for Wednesday, but will be so sad when I get to that final page.

Red Hood and The Outlaws #40 Preview

Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: March 18, 2015
After months of turmoil, Red Hood, Starfire, and Arsenal are facing their inner demons! But what they find could lead to the end of their partnership – especially if Blackfire kills them first!
I'm actually pretty upset about this being the last issue because...... Well, for one thing I love this title but really it's because in this story line I really saw potential for Crux joining the Outlaw crew and I thought he'd make a fun addition to the dynamic but after reading the list of new books for June, not only am I not getting Crux but we're losing Starfire as well. I just hope that Red Hood/Arsenal is as fun without our favorite Tamaranean Princess.

Batgirl: Endgame #1 Preview
Written By: Cameron Stewart, Brenden Fletcher
Art By: Bengal
Cover Price: $2.99
Release Date: March 18, 2015
There’s a mob of Jokerized madmen in Gotham City, and they’re determined to spread the virus into the world beyond… but they’re gonna have to get past Batgirl first! There are no words that can describe “The Battle For The Burnside Bridge”– you’ve got to see it to believe it!
If this Endgame tie in issue is as enjoyable as the Detective Comics one, then I'm all for it. Batman Endgame is so serious and dark that I welcomed the lighter tone and with any luck this issue will continue on that trend.

The End of The Age of Wonders
*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*
Okay everyone who's been as disappointed as I have about this title, it's finally at an end and we can rest easy knowing that this is the final issue of the series that I thought had so much promise when it first began........... Yeah, that's a bit harsh but this title has really let me down. Okay, in the last issue we dealt with the first leg of Darkseid's invasion where he turned the satellites of Earth-2 against it's people by using them as weapons that rained down from the sky....... also knocking out communications. While we saw our Wonders doing their best to rescue people in Metropolis, Supergirl came into contact with Intri who was supposed to kill one of our heroes who I figured was Batman but at this point who knows. As our issue ended Batman stole Terry Sloan's kryptonite piece and Lois Lane walked into the Daily Planet for her final interview. Let's see if this issue can end on a strong note and hopefully redeem this series......... Or at least this newer Superman/Batman of Earth 2 version of it. Let's check it out.
