The issue is a collection of stories with each of the Belchers getting there own bit.  It's great if you don't like a character or story because you can just move on to the next.  It's even better when each one nails it and with the show's creators on the book, I was really hoping that would be the case.  I'm going to give you a rundown of each part...and away we go.


Tina's Erotic Friend Fiction Presents: Take a Chance on Me(s)

If you like Tina, then you'll get all you can handle with her story.  It involves multiple Tina's and of course, Jimmy Jr.  When Darryl asks for Tina's help in a cloning experiment, she initially declines...until Jimmy Jr. needs back up dancers for his talent show dance routine!  Twenty-seven Tina's later and Jimmy Jr. takes the first prize (of course he did, he's a killer dancer) and then dates all the Tinas.  It seems like heaven, but to make a more meaningful life, the clones go out into the world and make a difference.  The story ends with Tina and Jimmy off to work on a more personal routine.

As long as you remember that this is in fact, Erotic Friend Fiction, you'll be fine here.  Where cloning like this usually goes wrong, it all works out and everything is what Tina would want to happen. Everyone is spot on here and it was cool to see Darryl (or DRL).

Louise's Unsolved Mysteries and Curious Curiosities: What Lies Beneath Bob's Burgers

This one starts with a Belcher versus Pesto kids sort of kickball/baseball game that starts in the street and ends in the Bob's Burgers basement.  When a Tina fastball cracks the wall, the kids find a secret room and passageway that is more than it seems.  While it's not the biggest of mysteries, it was great to see Mort and Mr. Fischoeder as well as Ollie and Andy who always make me laugh.

This is probably the least interesting story which upset me a bit as having Louise in a comic should open up so many possibilities.  Gene actually steals the show with some great dialogue, but in the end, this one was pretty forgettable.


Linda’s Attempt to Take Nice Family Picture In Front of the Restaurant ( And How It Always Goes Wrong) #273

This one is pretty easy to talk about...it's just the Belchers trying to take a family picture in front of the Restaurant (hence the title).  Things are about to go really wrong and it seems like Louise is the only one who realizes.  Mr. Fischoeder and his brother. Felix, are about to crash the party.

What is there to say about this?  It's got cool art and it is pretty cool to see Felix.  

Gene’s Nursery Rhymes That Could Be One Day Be Songs Presents: Full Moon Lounge Gene

The last story involved Gene dreaming of becoming a singer.  If you ask me, he already is, but seeing him become a crooner was great.  The song is a Frank Sinatra version of Eminem's "Careful What You Wish For" and the fun is seeing what Gene thinks "making it" entails.  Cars that light fires?!?!  Hilarious.  While it seems like Gene is on top of the world, he realizes he wants his old life back and ends up back at the restaurant...on the toilet.  Classic Gene.



This is the one story that I wished was on the show instead of this comic.  I wanted to hear the song with my ears and will hold out hope that we will get my wish someday.





As a whole. I liked this comic enough to recommend it to fans of the show.  Sure, it's lite on the story, but what we get is spot on character and story-wise.  If you don't like the show, there is nothing here that will sway you towards being a binge-watching junkie and in fact, I'd guess that non-fans would walk away from this comic scratching their heads in confusion about what the hype is all about.

The art of this issue is the highlight throughout.  Every artist nails their section and nothing here looks out of place at all.  Besides the art in the main stories, there is also some really cool full page stuff thrown in as well.  Again, if you are a fan of the show, you will love the art on display here.

Bits and Pieces:

This comic is for fans of the show and if you consider yourself one, pick it up.  It won't blow your mind or change your life, but the stories will put a smile on your face while you take a break from the marathoning the show.  If the appeal of the show confuses you, you probably won't like this comic at all and you just made my list.  What list?  THE list.  You've been warned.
