'Cause You Gotta Have Faith

I've really enjoyed Sensation Comics for what it is.  Nice little stories about Wonder Woman and her place in the World.  Nothing too mind blowing, but that's it's charm and I wouldn't want it any other way.  This book has filled the void that was left after DC canceled Adventures of Superman and seems to be it's spiritual successor.  I can only hope this book lasts as long (if not longer) as Supes' book did.

This is part two of a two part story and it picks up with Wonder Woman in trouble.  She may have disrespected her gods and because of that, her powers are quickly disappearing.  Of course, when she's at her most vulnerable, guess who shows up?  Cheetah, that's who. However, Wonder Woman always does the right thing and the right thing here is to stand up to the evil Cat and fight.  Instead of brawn, though, she fights with her head.  She not only figures out a way to defeat Cheetah, but also a solution to her powers shortage.  It ends with a twist reveal that could have been better, but Wonder Woman's faith is restored  in her gods, bust mostly in herself.

I liked this story enough.  I'm wasn't a big fan of the reveal as it pulled the rug from under the reader by introducing an unknown element as the cause of Wonder Woman's problems. That being said, I liked the story of Faith and it was cool to see Cheetah show up.

I did enjoy Marcus To's art even if I wish it was a bit more detailed.  When he get up close and personal, everything looks great.  Backgrounds are a totally different story.

Bits and Pieces:

While this isn't the strongest issue in the young series, it's exactly what I love about this book in general.  It's a nice little Wonder Woman story that reminds me why I feel in love with her in the first place.  She may have lost her faith in this arc, but I never lost my faith in her.
