Father Figure
This issue opens with Zod confronting Lord Superman and Wonder Woman. The little guy is confused and wants answers. He gets them, but really has no time to really process the information. Lord Superman reveals his ultimate plan and shows he will stoop lower than anyone on the douchebag scale to bring peace to his World. He has manipulated everyone and doesn't care how many lives are ruined or ended in his wake.
Meanwhile, it's a battle royale in the Batcave. Justice Leagues are colliding with heroes slugging it out with their counterparts, but something is different. Kai-Ro is not only showing his power, but is finding out he Justice Lords aren't as bad as they seem. Of course, Bruce Wayne already knew this and knows how to get them to stand down. The way Bruce gets the Justice Lords to see Lord Superman's evil plan is great and so fitting to the genius of Batman.
Speaking of Batman, readers of Batman Beyond 2.0 (seriously, if your reading this book you better be reading BB 2.0 as well) will be waiting for Terry to show up and show up he does. In all his kryptonite Batman suit glory. It's such a kick ass entrance, but it doesn't end the battle. Lord Superman has also prepared for this and it's going to take every member of both Leagues to finish this Crisis.
Christos Gage has given fans another great issue. It could have been filler before the end, but Gage is better than that. This issue brings both books fully together leading to a two issue finale that I can't wait to read.
Dexter Soy is in great form as usual. His style is more detailed and less cartoony which fits the characters and story so well. He also gets to shine with all the multiple character battles taking place, in this issue especially.
Bits and Pieces:
Justice League Beyond 2.0 #23 is another great issue in what is an outstanding crossover story. Lord Superman has revealed his ultimate plan and now it's up to those he betrayed to come together to end it. Christos Gage and Dexter Soy combine to make this a book that needs to be read. I can't wait to see how it all ends. Highly Recommended.
9.3/10
