Lookin' For A Game Changer? This'll Be Your Huckleberry.
Before we were interrupted by Cyborg's tune up in the last issue of Justice League, we saw Sinestro finally return, and it looks like he's going to put Power Ring in his place. We also had Luthor's Injustice League about to square off against the Secret Society, with a little help from Batman, and Cat Woman. So let's finally get what we've been waiting for, and find out who dies, and who switches sides.
Explain It!:
Oh man I'm excited. We'll start out with what I was waiting to see, Sinestro has chased Power Ring down into the sewers. There the two have a brief power struggle, but fear over powers whatever powers Power Ring.........powers. Not only does Sinestro beat Harold Jordan, he cuts his arm off. Finally being free of the rings influence, he thanks Sinestro, as he watches the ring fly off in search of a new host. But Sinestro isn't satisfied with crippling Power Ring, he blasts him away to nothing. Just like that Power Ring is dead. WOW! I damn near jumped out of my seat when I read this. Man I am loving Forever Evil.
Back at the fight between Luthor's Injustice League, and The Secret Society, we find Batman very hard pressed to trust Lex, and his team. But since the Secret Society's trying to kill all of them, a small team up couldn't hurt. The fight comes to a conclusion when Lex explains to Deathstroke that if the Crime Syndicate take over the world, then there won't be any reason for mercenaries, because the world would be full of them, and the hunt would be over. At this revelation, Deathstroke shoots Copperhead......in the head. And the Injustice League collective take down the Secret Society. So now it's time for a truce, Batman and Cat Woman join the Injustice Leauge, but be sure there's going to be a power struggle between it's members. Injustice League Role Call! Lex, Bizarro, Black Manta, Captain Cold, Black Adam, Sinestro, Batman, Cat Woman. Johns you put together one of the weirdest damn teams I've ever seen. I love it.
We end this issue with The Crime Syndicate aware that Power Ring has died, and that his ring was in search of a new host. But Grid tells the team that the ring sent out a multidimensional signal, which could be picked up even on their old home world. The Crime Syndicate gather to witness a tear in the fabric of this dimension, and they are aware that the thing that destroyed their world is coming here.
Bits and Pieces:
This issue is pretty much everything you could want it to be. We were left with a pretty big cliff hanger when Sinestro showed up last issue, and it seemed we had to wait Forever for the payoff, but it was totally worth it. Johns tells some epic stories, and I'm already pissed I have to wait another month for the next issue. Go get this issue, and continue your foray into the world of Forever Evil. Is the new issue out yet???? Damn.
9.5/10
