Sugar and Spike Make Everything Nice

Adventures of Superman has been a book that I look forward to each week.  What I love about it is that it gives varied writers the chance to write Superman stories they always wanted to.  Favorite villains have made appearances and Superman has found himself and the World in serious jeopardy.  This week, Fabian Nicieza gives us a funny little one-shot spotlighting Clark Kent's babysitting skills.

Yes, it's an Adventures in Babysitting yarn starring Clark Kent, the Atomic Skull and everyone's favorite tykes, Sugar and Spike.  Yes, Sugar and Spike.  They are here looking great and talking in the baby talk that makes them so cute...and devious.  Clarke gets railroaded into babysitting them and when Superman is called to duty, they go along for the ride.  It's such cartoony fun and the ending reminds me of the old Bugs Bunny cartoon where Bugs meets Mugsy the Gangster.  Hilarious.

The art of Phil Hester fits the subject matter so well.  It's a fun cartoon style and I loved it.

Bits and Pieces:

Adventures of Superman has been many things.  Serious, action-packed, thought provoking and now with chapter 42, Hilarious.  Clark babysitting Sugar and Spike is fun on it's own, but throw in Atomic skull and you get Adventures in Babysitting meets Bugs Bunny.  I really enjoyed this one-shot for what it was, good fun.
