*Non Spoilers and Score At The Bottom*

The biggest problem about this book ending is that my mood is going to be greatly affected because every time I think about this book, talk about this book and read this book, I just end up gushing over it and I'm not too much of a Negative Nancy to admit that it makes my day.  It's over now though so Rebirth better be this fantastic thing that DC is making it out to be because I got pretty into feeling feelings and I'm not about to let that go and start questioning whether the world is out to get me again........ Especially that one eyed Russian lady who lives a floor below me.... She's real by the way and she creeps the hell out of me...... and I may or may not actually think that she's some kind of Baba Yaga....... So yeah, I need a book like this to keep my mood bright and my mind occupied because when I don't have either of those things....... Well, Baba Yaga.  In our previous issue we saw our Midtown Robins get their heads out of their asses and finally start working together again for the first time since Robin War and it was awesome.  With grappling guns in tow and a needs of the many out way the needs of the few attitude, we saw our heroes take down Smiley and his band of Jokerz.  All that's over now though so let's jump into this issue to see how our Robins are doing in the aftermath of the almost school shooting and if they plan on continuing working together to make Gotham a safer place.  Let's check it out.

Explain It!:

Our final issue pretty much picks up where we left off and our Robins are answering questions for the police about what went down in Midtown High School and what they're involvement in stopping Smiley was, but pretty much they're considered heroes and I imagine I'd be feeling pretty damn good about myself if it was me so you definitely get the feeling that our heroes are on cloud nine right now.  While they may be living large inside their own minds, we see when our Robins go there separate ways that for as good as they feel, some of their lives are still pretty much shit..... like Izzy and Dre, but it really comes off that no matter how much life beats them down, they're going to continue to do the right thing and our We Are Robins team is stronger than it's ever been.  Yeah, the beginning of this book is all about the feels and I love that, but it's time to get into our final story.

As it turns out, not all the former Robins are still flying high and rocking the red like they were during the Robin War days and some are falling on some really hard times and making compromises with their morals as a way to justify their actions.  We meet a teenager and former Robin named Cisco, who's father is stressing over loosing another contract for his construction company to Bruce Wayne under bidding him..... and if things continue like this, Cisco's family is seriously going to be in some dire straits.  This leads Cisco to taking a job with some unsavory sorts, which he initially wasn't about until they mentioned that they were planning on robbing Bruce Wayne...... then comes the moral compromises and whatnot.  Knowing that he was doing the dumb shit, Cisco sent out a text to our Robin's resident Oracle, Shug_R, letting her know that he didn't see any other choice in case he gets arrested.  This sends Shug to get our Midtown Robins involved and our heroes suit up for the last time in their own series and try to stop this burglary from going down............ Which they probably could have done easy peasy if Alfred hadn't shown up and made himself the perfect hostage.

In the end, two of the burglars get away, but Alfred is saved through some cool headed negotiating from our heroes, but Mr. Pennyworth informs the Robins that Mr. Wayne just so happens to have some spelunking gear in the penthouse they're in, so it would be perfectly easy for them to parachute down and confront the baddies before they get away...... which they do, but not before Duke throws out a really quick line letting all of us and Alfred know that he knows about Alfred being "The Nest".  While we've been waiting the entire series for Alfred to reveal himself as the person who got our Midtown Robins together, I have to say that this really quick line somehow works fine for me and really made me smile as I thought about how much our Robins have grown in such a short time before they parachuted out the window as a team and ended their series.

That's it for this series of We Are Robin and like I've said a million times....... which is a lot for a twelve issue series, I love this book and it's definitely one of the best books to come out of the DCYou.  While I think I went into this issue hoping for a big over the top story to bring us to a close, I found myself happy that it was more of a low key scenario, where our Robins take care of one of their own.  It almost feels like it was meant for the true fans who have been apart of the "We" since this series started and this finale makes sense because these characters aren't Batman or Nightwing, they're kids who are simply trying to do the right thing the best possible way they can and that's what we end with and it felt fitting.  Like every other issue that Jorge Corona is on, this issue looked great and like another thing I've said a million times, it's his unique style combined with Lee's understanding of what makes young heroes feel real that really made this book as special as it was and this issue is no exception.

Bits and Pieces:

We end our We Are Robins book with a bit of a low key issue, but it really seems fitting because while it's not action packed in an over the top kind of way, it maintains the feel of the characters and the type of scenarios that they should find themselves in and because of this, this issue works really well.  I'm really going to miss this book, but at least I can take some solace in that Duke will show up in not only Batman, but All-Star Batman as well.  I just hope the rest of our Robins get some panel play in Rebirth and hopefully we get to see more of Lee Bermejo and Jorge Corona because these two creators seriously sold me on a couple of kids becoming more than they were.

8/10
